My oh-so schizophrenic playlist for January 2007 I'm one of those people who still don't own an iPod so when I'm not listening to music on my laptop I'm listening to music in my bedroom using a portable CD player. Therefore I tend to listen to whole albums almost only when I'm in bed. Every once in a while I get bored with my CD collection (or too lazy to sort through it to find something "fresh" ) and I make mix-CDs on my laptop. I just made one of these tonight, my first mix-CD in months! And I thought I'd share the playlist with the nice folks of Prince.org ....
My philosophy for the song choices was basically to choose new or new-ish songs I'm listening to at the moment (or just discovering) ... The few older songs on the list are songs I've been discovering (or re-discovering) for the past few months. Beware: some of the song choices and parts of the sequencing may not be for the faint of heart (or indie music snobs ) 1. U2 & Green Day - "The Saints Are Coming" 2. Fedde Le Grand - "Put Your Hands Up For Detroit" 3. Scissor Sisters - "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'" 4. The Knife - "Heartbeats" 5. Stefy - "Chelsea" 6. Twisted Sister - "I Wanna Rock" 7. Mika - "Grace Kelly" 8. Justin Timberlake - "LoveStoned/I Think She Knows" 9. Afro-Rican - "Give It All You Got (Blade Runners Suntown Edit)" 10. The Killers - "When We Were Young" 11. Ampop - "Gets Me Down" 12. Prince - "Song of the Heart" 13. N.I.N. - "Dead Souls" 14. Incubus - "Dig" 15. Rick Springfield - "Love Is Alright Tonight" 16. Magni - "When The Time Comes" 17. Robbie Williams - "She's Madonna" 18. Beaten Bishops - "Where's My Destiny?" And if you're unfamiliar with some of the song selections, feel free to ask about them and I'll try to answer to my best knowledge [Edited 1/18/07 14:49pm]

Check out the Claude Vonstroke remix to that (if you haven't already) excellent Detroit Techno inspired stuff. Also, check check out his other track "Who's Afraid of Detroit." There's a great remix of that on the latest Fabriclive with Stanton Warriors. "I wanna rock!" :: Check out Junior Sanchez's version of that, he directly sampled that hook and its guitars. Your list is a beast. Good choices there.
