NOT counting Ike years.. damn she really made those tunes for me though.
Okay I'll say "I Might Have Been Queen". My mom plays the album Private Dancer ALOT. As a kid, I also liked "We Don't Need Another Hero" and "Typical Male". [Edited 1/14/07 20:30pm]

I've never been into Tina's music, but I love watching her perform.
Just to answer the question, I would say "We Don't Need Another Hero."

"good to me" always makes me giggle when she says, "i don't UNDERSTAND...WHAT'S YOUR PLAN?!? thatcha can't be....GOOD TA ME!!!"
i don't know why i giggle. i just do. does 'acid queen' count as ike days? cuz she still kills me in tommy when she performs it. i like her version of "let's stay together", too. i always liked the video, simple and cheesy as it is.

Her version of Robert Palmer's "Johnny and Mary" from the Summer Lovers soundtrack is probably my favorite song of hers.

I guess "It's Only Love" w/ Bryan Adams doesn't count huh? Who's song is that anyway, his?

I think it's a duet. I'd count it. Well yea, they sang it together - but who's original song is it?

That double CD greatest hits set she released, "All The BEst" from a few a few years back just does it for me. They tried editing that into one disc not long after it's release, to I suppose capitalize on cheap fans, but it doesn't hold up. So many great songs that it's hard to chose. I would say "Typical Male" but also shout outs to "Something Beautiful Remains" and "Better Be Good To Me". I also really dug the new songs on there, too, even though I know when it came out a few people ripped into the simple pop of "Open Arms".

I'll never understand the huge popularity of "Typical Male." I don't like the "Break Every Rule" LP. Except the song "Back Where You Started."
"Something Beautiful Remains"--HELL YEAH! Love that joint. I think the whole "Wildest Dreams" LP was underrated. It's gorgeous. But the follow up, her last studio record, "24/7" is...ugh...shit. I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

This is a toughie... I really like Wildest Dreams. I think that song is so sexy. Private Dancer has been run in the ground but I love the music especially the break. Then I really love I Don't Really Want to Fight. But how can I forget Why Must We Wait Until Tonight? Another truly sexy song. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

y'all know that I Dont Really Want To Fight (or is it I Dont Want To Fight?) was recommended to Tina Turner by her good friend Sade...the song was presented to Sade (whom prefers to perform her own written songs) thought of Tina and forwarded it to her. Space for sale...

Simply the best. We don´t need another hero. I can´t stand the rain. there´s lots of them... "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I understand why a lot of people wouldn't like "Typical Male". It's very poppy, very eighties. If you like that type of stuff, Tina's strong vocals and the arrangement just put it over the top. I first heard "Something.." on a compilation, actually. I was really impressed by it...very different from her hit records. Never heard "24/7" but kind of liked that "Believe"-ish first single (by the same prodcuers).
