Yeah,we're discussing this on another forum that I visit lol

10 of her albums from the late 60s/early 70s have been remastered. Can't wait to pick these up! I remember as a kid,my parents had one of these albums...can't recall which one,but it included her covers of "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" and The Beatles "Yesterday".I loved that album!!!

Cool, what forum is that? smile

It`s either "Prmosises promises" or "I`ll never fall in love again". There`s also a beautiful song called "Yesterday i heard the rain"...
Rhino released many of her albums with bonus tracks a while ago, including a concert....

I wish they could have released some of the albums that has never been released on cd before, like "No night so long" and the duet album with Isaac Hayes.

I have 'No Night So Long' on vinyl. The first single "Easy Love" is NICE...I can't believe it didn't become a bigger hit back in 1980.

what do you think of the 'Heartbreaker' album, produced by Barry Gibb?

To be honest, i don`t really find it that exciting...
I think the album she released two years later, "Friends in love", is much better nod

btw, have you seen the "Dionne Warwick story" dvd?

I like 'Heartbreaker' alot. But then again,I am also a huge fan of Barry Gibb and The Bee Gees lol I tend to like most of the stuff they produce for others.

Never seen that Dionne Warwick DVD...is it any good? I've been waiting for her to write her biography. We've seen books by Gladys Knight,Chaka,Donna,Summer,Aretha,Patti LaBelle,etc...it's time for Dionne to tell HER story!

I`m not a big fan of Bee Gees, although i like the "Saturday night fever" soundtrack, Diana Ross` "Eaten alive" album and the Barry Gibb/Streidand duet "Guilty" music

I haven`t seen the dvd either. But it could have been interesting to see the documentary nod

She did write a book, "My point of view", but it`s not really a biograpgy, mostly picures of her with other celebrities (plenty) and family. I wouldn`t recommend it... lol

Have you got her new CD? It's a covers album of duets.

No, and i probably won`t get it either. Have you seen the customer reviews on amazon? It doesn`t look good...

She already released "Dionne sings Dionne" AND "Dionne sings Dionne 2"!!!, who need a 3rd album of her singing her old hits?

I would be the first to buy a new Dionne Warwick album if she just recorded some new material... It`s almost like people are out of ideas for songs, everyone`s doing covers now.

Exactly! I am fed up with covers albums mad They should stick Dionne in the studio with producers David Foster and Stevie Wonder and see what happens.I bet she could come up with a very good album.

Good idea nod

Have you heard the song she did with Jools Holldand a few years ago, "What goes around comes around"? I would like to hear something like that again...

And yeah, there`s plenty of covers albums, some great, some not so great....
I didn`t care for Gladys Knight`s album, but Diana Ross` "I love you" was to me the best album of 2006. Natalie Cole didn`t dissapoint either, although i would prefer new material, like the song "5 minutes away". She was on to something there nod

Patti Austin is out with a new album soon too (my avatar...), which i really look forward too, and yes, it`s a standards album lol I`m also excited about Deniece Williams` new album (also covers)...

I've been looking forward to these releases. Thanks for the reminder. Yahoo Music Engine has had Live in Paris available for download for some time now, so I'm glad to see it's finally getting a CD release. They actually have a pretty extensive catalogue of her material available for listening and download. I've never heard The Magic of Believing, so that's the one I'm most looking forward to.

I look forward to the "Live in Paris" album. I was a little dissapointed that Rhino didn`t release the planned double cd set of "On stage and in the movies".
I think they wanted to include plenty of live tracks too, which would have been nice. I have the "Dionne Warwicke story - a decade of gold" lp, and i`m loving it, she included more of my Bacharach/David favorites, like "Raindrops keep falling on my head" and "Wives and lovers". I know many of the songs from the "Live in Paris" album from various compilations, but i would much rather have the "Decade of gold" album on cd...
