Romeoblu

Just pulled out my copy and noticed Amp Fiddler is credited for Keyboards on a couple of tracks.

This album is an essential album for those into funk especially the Minneapolis sound. For me its a 10/10.

This is a Classic Album.

This thread has legs, huh? razz A friend and I were talking about them over the weekend, and he pointed out how Foster/McElroy may have used Madame X a a template for Envogue. Their vocal sound, anyway. At 1st I was like "nah", but the more Ithink about it hmmm

sorry but i don't see/hear it. madame x were way hotter than envogue!

Just orderd my Madame X LP from GEMM.com. NOw I'm excited!

You'll love it. Next get Alisa Randolph's solo album. It's not as good as Madame X, but there's some good funk on it.

"The Entity" is easily the best song on the album. I'll have to listen to it again though before I can give you others.

LOVED MAdame X! I think I saw their poster in a Black record store and bought it and later copied the cassette from someone.

but somehow the tape got copied at a higher speed (remember those old dual deck boom boxes??) and then in later years when I heard Just THat Type of A Girl it sounded too slow to me smile

I keep looking for the whole album cuz i lost the cassette.

Bernadette was too cool! Slap me one time!!

PS Klymaxx has a myspace page and are supposed to tour but the show in my area got postponed.

After years ( and I do mean years) of searching for this hard to find, out of print gem, a friend hooked me up with a copy. cool I rocked it all weekend. can you please translate wtf she is saying in the following lines from Just that Type of Girl? :

"Champaign, diamond rings, caviar, mingle with the stars(uh)....1st clas ticket and"zizzah bizzeh"" what the hell is "zizzah bizzeh"?

Cherries in the Snow is my fave.

I always thought it was "Make it With a star!..." although I guess what you wrote makes sense.

And then "1st class ticket.... ATTITUDE TO Visit(?)"??

Did you convert your LP to MP3s??? I"m trying to find one to that. I Only have JTTOG on Mp3 and cherries in the snow.

i thought they were pretty awful iam afraid. Standard funk/rnb that could of been done in the mid 80's.

"just that type of girl" is no better then early Pebbles.

Pebbles could never be that funky on the best day of her life--even on Andre's "Love Hate".
