A Piano Driven Album

The Album consists of 11 tracks. Much like their freshman album, it's filled with piano driven songs. As their past albums (Strange and Beautiful/Still Life) were more sad than anything, this time its a bit more fast paced, but have that somber Aqualung sound.
The albums opener (Cinderella) is one of their louder songs (At least at first) starting with drums and guitar riffs, eventually folds into a piano vs. clean Beats, very well produced track.
With a wonderful set of vocal chords, he still conveys a sound that is rough and fragile.
Album highlights like "Rolls so Deep" start out with an acoustic guitar, and turn into what sounds like a Beach Boys tribute. It's beautiful and melodic.
"The Lake" is one of their most eerie tracks.. distant, mysterious lyrics about a house thats empty and "Smells of ghost".. a highlight song that could compare to a Thom Yorke song. The song eventually fades into the next track "Black Hole", which is Aqualungs most experimental track (back to back actually). A cross between real and electronic beats, this song is one of the best songs on the album. Lyrics from black Hole -"Sooner or later, this will fall apart. It takes more than science, to save a failing heart. I Wanted to keep you, and hide you from the sun, where no'one could reach you" The song eventually fades and the electronic beats come back with a out of tune guitar and sound fx. A Big highlight, and step forward for aqualung.

I wouldn't call this an expected 2nd album, but it made sense to create a "bigger" sound for this promising group called Aqualung (Which primarily is just Matt)

4 out of 5 stars.
