Amazing track, this album is very Underrated also, it was Duran at a real crossroads, but still in great form. To me LIBERTY and POP TRASH are their most underrated and ignored records.

"Serious" was my favorite track from "Liberty".

It would have done better as the lead single. I liked "Violence Of Summer", but that tanked on the charts. By the time "Serious" was released as the 2nd single, the album was done. mad

i didn't know where Serious came from, but i was glad to hear it on the Greatest Hits album. i like it. i guess that speaks to how underrated AND under promoted Liberty was. i've never even heard of it. i knew Pop Trash was out there. (UH, literally AND figuratively LOL)

I love Pop Trash. Especially Lady Xanax and Playing with Uranium

they need to do another "best of" that captures the best from the recent work, like the songs u mentioned. i'm curious as to what the Timbaland collabs will sound like on their next album

The album is coming soon. I can't wait for it! Duran Duran have been so overlooked
these recent years. sad

Even Meddazland is fab.

My favorite "forgotten" Duran Duran song has to be "Skin Trade". Love it.

Serious is great... and it should have been the 1st single.

"My Antarctica" is the high point from that album IMHO. SUCH a beautiful song.

They must have been on crack to release "Violence of Summer" as the single. Terrible choice.

I used to think that 'Rio' was the only "great" Duran album, and that the others were just really patchy, with only a handful of good songs on each. I pulled out 'Big Thing' about a month ago, though, and it's surprisingly good. Also pulled out 'Notorious', which is similarly good. 'Seven and the Ragged Tiger' is 3 great singles and sub-standard filler, though.

I like the filler on "Tiger". biggrin It is filler, but it's catchy... "I Take the Dice" in particular. It does have 3 great singles, though - no question.

"Big Thing" has some good material on it, but it's kind of a mess. They left off the best song and made it a b-side: "I Believe/All I Need to Know." I love love love that song. I was so happy to finally have it on CD when the Duran Duran singles box sets were released. They had some other cool b-sides as well, "Secret Oktober" and "Late Bar" both should have been on their albums.

Serious is a great track. But I don't love Liberty as much as others. Here are my top 5 favorite Duran Duran albums counted down:

5. Thank You - I know many people hate this one, but who cares? "Drive By", "Thank You" and "Perfect Day" are absolutely sublime. The rest is fun to listen to.
4. Astronaut - Overlooked, for sure.
3. Big Thing - the first great mature Duran Duran album.
2. Rio - the classic, sounds like a collection of hit singles. Listen to the colorful basslines.
1. Medazzaland - Duran Duran got everything absolutely perfect on this one, IMO. Their best album hands down.
