Kid Creole & The Coconuts : One Funky Act! LINK!

Ever heard "Endicott"?

It's got chicken scratchin' rhthym guitars, the One, the funk yell..."uuooowwwWWW!", it's a treat!

What about their version of Prince's ""The Sex Of It"!

Website!

Check it children! Lots of other Funky music (MP3's etc.) in the audio section!

I love their 1982 song "I'm A Wonderful Thing Baby",which is reminiscent of the whole Morris Day persona. It contains lyrics that would have been perfect for The Time...

"Take a look at me,you know I couldn't look no better
Girl I'm at my peak,and that's a fact,that's a fact
Take a part of me,you know it couldn't feel no better
Take it all with ease, before you break your back or get a
heart attack!

I'm a Wonderful Thing,baby
I'm a Wonderful Thing,baby"

You may wanna start with their 1992 Greatest Hits CD,which contains the tracks...

"I'm A Wonderful Thing Baby"
"Endicott"
"There's Something Wrong In Paradise"
"If You Wanna Be Happy"
"Stool Pigeon" (a Great song, funky and catchy!!)
"Annie,I'm Not Your Daddy"
"Yolanda"
"It's A Wonderful Life"
"Dancin At The Bains Douches"
"In The Jungle"
"Animal Crackers"
"Part Of My Design"
"Call It A Day"
"Lifeboat Party"

Curiously, this CD does not contain their 1987 Prince-written hit "The Sex Of It",even though there is a brief mention of that song in the liner notes.

I saw the movie 'Lambada' about 6 months ago...floating around the channels...and Kid Creole and the Coconuts were the band at the local club. He has some speaking lines and plays a couple tunes near the end of the movie.

Lambada!
