Was Michael the only leadsinger of J5? I just listen to some of my J5 albums and I don't think it is fair to ridicule Jermaine when he says he was the co-leadsinger of J5.

As a long time Michael Jackson fan, I think it's only fair to acknowledge Jermaine as co-lead singer of The Jackson 5.
The fact is that Michael's sang most of the lyrics on songs that Jermaine's vocals appeared on. Jermaine tended to only sing the bridge parts on most Jackson 5 songs like I Want You Back, I'll Be There, Dancing Machine and all of the other Jackson 5 you have listed. Michael often sang no less than 85% of Jackson 5 each Jackson 5 song. So while Jermaine vocals can be heard on the majority of Jackson 5 songs (and he does deserve more acknowledgement), and he was co-lead singer Michael was the front man of The Jackson 5, as his vocals (and dancing) dominated The Jackson 5 sound etc. [Edited 1/15/07 10:01am]

http://www.youtube.com/wa...lLZTgyM-ts what's your point? That was hilarious. Jermaine didn't take himself too serious and was a good sport IMO. This clip is with better sound: http://www.youtube.com/wa...dGsN7KLa4Y You wanna see something kewl? Try this: http://www.youtube.com/wa...RuSNIHtcy8

Nice vintage J5 clips. Kewl indeed.
Wait until you see the 82 tour and the unedited Madison Square Garden 30th Anniversary show on You Tube. My point is a bit tongue in cheek. If you remember the whole "Word 2 The Badd" deal and Jermaine's quote" "Right now Michaels the hottest brother. It could have been me....." But it's weird when brothers sing each others tunes. It's like they're trying to do a genetic remix. I went through every single J5 album track and B-side a few years ago for somebody, to highlight who sang on what. Twas funny seeing that Marlon barely ever got a look in at all

Jermaine shared ALOT of lead parts, and even had his own solo Jackson 5 hits ("I Found That Girl"). Why not acknowledge him? He's a great singer!

As much as people hollered over Michael Jackson's talent then, it was his brother Jermaine who actually was considered the sex symbol in The Jackson 5. Jermaine's was pin-up regular in teen magazines like "Right On" in the early 1970s.
