I recently saw Brad Paisley play some amazing stuff. I thought he was just country's version of Justin, but he's actually talented.
Keith Urban can play pretty well, too. Country players don't cover their playing with effects, generally. They pick clean. My Legacy

My own favorite, though he doesn't seem to be shredding nearly as much in this as in other pieces, is the one and only Phil Keaggy. http://youtube.com/watch?v=XMS052Gj3cg A more shred-tastic offering: http://youtube.com/watch?...ed&search= [Edited 1/15/07 11:23am]

Here's one more before we break out with the overalls.
These are all great players. Good thread! http://www.youtube.com/wa...ed&search= "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

He's a mix of rock n' roll and country, but James Burton is a great imo. He's played with everyone from Elvis, Emmy-Lou Harris, Gram Parsons and Rick Nelson.
And, while not strictly a guitar player, Earl Scruggs is the god of the bluegrass banjo imo.
