Curious as to people's opinions of Alicia Keys' and Common's acting debuts.

Not really planning on seeing it mainly because of the overused premise of the movie. The clips and previews i have seen are nothing new, fast cuts,catch phrases,unecessary violence and paper thin character development. The clips i have seen of Alicia you doesnt seem to be playing a part either, she is delivering lines the same way she speaks at her shows and in interviews, so im going to pass on this, though i do like the fact that it seems it was shot Digital and not on film that would be a plus at this point but the plot doesnt look intersting

I don't think I'll see it only b/c it looks like one of those 2 Days in the Valley type flicks - over the top, wham bam, look how fucking cool we are type shit. Unless I hear it's great I won't be paying to see it... I'd watch it in a second on cable though

Just another, "aren't we hip" wanna be Tarantino ripoff/homage. I can just see all of the cast members thinking, "aw man, this movie is gonna be so cool..." What Hollywood thinks is hip and what really is hip are two totally different things.

I have yet to see a good review.
