lol Toni screwed herself end of story. She ran to any camera she could to clown L.A. Reid when More than A Woman was flopping. It was all his fault he wasn't marketing her right. Nobody told her to release a single w/ Baby. Nobody told her to massage all over herself during Aaliyah's tribute video. And, nobody told her to sign to what has to be one of the worst labels. She left Arista when she could've stayed. How is Barry getting in between a relationship she's had w/ L.A. for years? She knows what kind of label Blackground is and if she didn't that's still her fault. How do you sign and committ your career to a label you haven't researched? Toni has no case w/ this at all. She needs to be a woman about hers and be more about business. And, I'm willing to bet she's going to try to get L.A. to sign her to IDJ.

THERE U GO!!! When I first heard she was signing to Blackground I knew that was trouble. I was wondering how come she didn't do any research on the label. As far I can remember, before Jo Jo, Aaliyah was pretty much their only (money making) artist-- save the one off deals with Timbaland for his cds.

Toni needs to live by the saying, "Fool me once shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me."

Toni is an example of a person NOT paying ATTENTION 2 their business affairs. 4 her 2 be going through this type of situation at this point in her career says quite a bit about her and her husband whom should know better also.

What a waste of talent.

didn't Braxton file bankruptcy before? sounds to me like she needs to find reputable people to protect her.

She does not know how to get her business in order at all it seems. Just becasue she was released doesn't mean she was dropped. I don't know anyone else making waves on Blackground, that's for sure. Considering she only released one single (at least to my knowledge), 430K isn't too bad.

Sometimes a recording artist just wants to concentrate on being that! That is the problem with music today. Everyone looks for money prior to the music. True originality is stunted and isn't given the chance for growth due to monetary involvement. Toni Braxton is a singer!! Not a business woman. There are people out there who take advantage of peoples talents for their own selfish gain. It happpens all the time. It takes years to develop the talent to sing, write and perform. One in a million make it. It's ashame to see people having absolutely nothing to do with the conception or performance of a song get the majority of the money just because they can bring it to the masses. I love Toni Braxton because she IMO still holds on to the classiness without becoming slutty. She has made errors in the past but for the "most" part she still brings forth the element of song with style.

the point is that there is no label that is going to support RB the way it used to. Motown is a joke at this point, Universal just has too many side labels at this point, did anyone even know that BlackGround was bought up by Universal? I agree that Toni should have known better, BUT, my problem is with Barry Hankerson, and the fact that i still here his name coming up years after being exposed as a crook and a thief. The things that he was doing after Aaliyahs death were criminal and im glad the family got rid of him.
