His tv show was on for 5 years and is in syndication. So I guess it did pretty good. He's getting paid since his company produced it.

But I didn't think Jamie was any funnier... the audience were just laughing when he was talking because they thought they were "supposed" to laugh since it was Jamie Foxx... like a laugh track...

True and let me add for the record that it wouldn't hurt for Jamie to eat a slice or two of humble pie.

You think so? I couldn't see the audience, but the panelists that I saw seemed to be genuinely laughing at what Jamie was saying. At the very least, the "I just told another joke that didn't go over" bit seemed to elicit a real response.

Personally, I think they were just laughing at that comedian's embarrasment moreso than Jamie's comedic skill...

i do see an arrogance in him.. I never really had a problem with this guy, but he does have the attributes of a person who's had a serious acting career and flaunts a perception of possible stability of someone who's acted for over 30 years reaching for an applause..

the fact is, he's got a long way to go before the "respect" comes in.. regardless of what award he has sittin in his home from playin "ray"..

Having said that, I think he's a flake

Is he gonna combine this with some standup? The album sucked, imo. I felt Peep This was a better album

I saw Jamie Foxx on New Year's. Fantasia's rendition of Purple Rain was awesome, btw.

Anyway, Jamie is totally milking his Oscar win for all it's worth. After every joke, his punchline or whatever was "Cuz I'ma Oscar winner. . . .and I'm a nigga, too!" I got tired of him saying it in his routine. Overkill ain't funny.

funny, I'm up here past midnight working at the office, and have cable on, I caught parts of 3 concerts: Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and now Chris Rock.... Pryor was hilarious, Carlin was not so funny at all, lot's of silence too... and Rock is more political then funny for the most part...

I'm no Jamie Fox fan, don't know much about his arrogance, but the roast of the roaster was funny... isn't that mean roast shit with no bounderies the whole idea?

Jamie Foxx is not as (over?)exposed here in the UK. I think he's a good actor with the potential to become a great one (his portrayal of Bundini Brown in "Ali" was, for me, the highpoint of the film, and he was excellent in "Collateral"). He's also a good singer .... although his songs are crap.
