This orger reminds me of Brian Adams but in a more sexual way:

I keep READING about this REMIX for Maneater but anytime I ever heard this song at the club, it was the same shit with an extended instrumental beginning. confused

These are the "Maneater" remixes that are floating around:

Waata house mix
Peter Rauhofer Reconstruction remix
Richard Vission club mix
Richard Vission dub
featuring Lil Wayne (remix)
featuring Da Weasel

I'm sure the ones that are getting the most play are the Rauhofer and Vission versions.

Yo, there's also the Radioslave remix that I thought was the illest out of the bunch. Not sure if it's a white label, but East Village Radio's dance show played it a lot over the summer.

I heard it was easy to find thru Googling [...but I haven't the faintest idear where I heard that] :-X

That's really early. It only became a club hit nationally late last year. I just found the Rauhofer mix online and I'm listening to it now. Not bad--it's typical Rauhofer house-techno, but at least he left in some of the original tracks.

Rauhofer is mad boring lately, so is Vasquez. But, believe it or not, I wasn't too impressed with much of the Loose remixes.

Loose is the kind of album with such strong original songs that sometimes a remix is non sequitur and can't hold a candle to it.

Personally, I think Nelly's camp had a chance to make the Loose remixes hard as hell, but commissioned the wrong DJs. The Radioslave remix should've been the one she pushed to American clubs. Also, she should've hooked up with some indie DJs, I'm surprised she didn't. Instead she let Geffen enlist these predictable/tired ass handbag 'n' pension checkers like J.Vaqz and Rauhofer.

I agree Rauhofer is very predictable now. I was never a big fan of Junior Vasquez to begin with. His remix of "I'm Like A Bird" was horrible.

Who did the "Promiscuous" remixes?

The Promiscuous mixes were better than the Maneater ones, IMHO. But the original was so big here a lot of 'em got overshadowed.

The official U.S. ones were The Josh Desi mix and the Crossroads Vegas mix. I actually like the Josh Desi mix the most. I really recommend you check that one out (it's @ the iTunes Music Store) it's hot and was more of what I expecting from the rest of the mixes.

Plus, a lot of side mixes were out there, too, like:

Morels Pink Noise (this one's good, too)
Richard "Humpty" Vission
Axwell
Silk

Also, if ya do some digging there's some cool-little white labels like Flex Sleuthor's "Promiscuous Wildcat 3.0 (with Ratatat)" and a mashup of Raconteurs "Steady As She Goes" vs. Promiscuous.

I have issues with alot of remixes over the last few years and i think Magne Furuholmen, the Piano/Vocal/Songwriter of a-Ha said it best. When they released their 2000 album "Minor earth Major Sky" they had 5 singles released and as usual everyone does "remixes" so a-Ha just let anyone do the mixes, for those singles were "Pumpin Dolls remixes" Ian Pooley, ATB, R.A.S. and the island brothers. Well needless to say when a-Ha's next CD came out in 2002, a-Ha this time wanted the remixes to actually do something with the song, basically strip them down and then re work them, and as Magne Said, it seemed like most producers get a track and then go on a whole IBIZA trip and never try something new. On their 2005 album, the remixes were done once again by DJ's, one of which was Paul Van Dyk, and being a huge a-Ha fan, to me u have to do something with a remix, not just throw some beats on, but Paul Van Dyk didnt do that it and the remixes for their first single "Celice" were not very good.

The thing is with the Nelly cd, i still feel "NO HAY IGUAL" was the best track and the Calle 13 mixes were the best, but Nelly and the label didnt really push this song well to radio. Even though its in Spanish it should have been pushed as a pop record, since others like Shakira have never had an issue with pushing Spanish songs on Pop Radio.
