I'm just a casual Madonna fan. I only buy the stuff she makes that I like. However, I know this is a tragedy and I do feel y'all's pain because I have been there myself when my favorite artists have sold out. But I want y'all to know that I'm there for you.....

I saw a clip of Madonna from the Today Show. I really think she doesn't take herself too seriously or has learned not to over the years. She seems to have fun with her celebrity. I love her response when asked about the Britney kiss--something like "We shared a kiss, and I haven't seen her since.. that's the story of my life." In a way, it's bad news for Brit because it sounds like Madonna is trying to distance herself from her. But I still thought her comment was pretty witty and funny. Also, I like the way Madonna confronts things. She always addresses criticism. I wish Janet were more like that.

On the other hand, her accent has become more affected (I guess due to living in England??), and I don't think she realizes that she's not a very good actress. She said something about being able to hide behind the animation of this role--maybe alluding to her celebrity being a distraction in film roles or something?? But there have been other high-profile music artists like-- Cher in particular-- who have been able to break-out of their celebrity persona's on-screen with good acting. I sometimes think that Madonna's problem as an actress is that she doesn't want the audience to forget that she's Madonna. She doesn't know how to let-go and immerse herself in a role.

I'm softening her to her a bit as a person, but I still think she's over-rated as a music artist. She's a great pop artist-that's for sure.
