Aretha: Live @ The Filmore West - Deluxe Edition

Grooving to this while I'm typing music the inside pix and liner notes are very cool too. I wonder if there's a filmed footage circled around though, it would be intersting to witness this in motion nod

I have the 4 disc set, but i would recommend buying the deluxe edition instead of paying between $100 and 300 for the "Don`t fight the feeling" set!

Doesn`t she sound wonderful on Ross` "Reach and and touch"?

Too bad she didn`t release more live albums...

She sure did, she str8 up SNATCHED the damn thing and owned it. I love the fact that they released her bluse "Dr.Feelgood" unedited.

TAnd te "Aretha & King Curtis" album is out of print now. She has that "Live @ Paris" album, good gem nod

Not too crazy about "Aretha in Paris". She sounded good (as always), but i just don`t like the songs she chose for the concert. I loved "Natural woman", "Dr feelgood" and "I never loved a man" were okay...

I wish she could have included "Ain`t no way" and "A change is gonna come".

I hate that I didn't pick up the Don't Fight The Feeling box set before it was out of print! But the deluxe edition of Aretha's Live At The Fillmore West set is just a classic live performance. I've neva heard a soul revival as riveting as this one! She rocked the house and at the same time pleased both audiences: black and white... After listening to album, I came to a conclusion that nobody can do Aretha's songs except ARETHA! Make It With You is my fave joint on this one.

Even though the comparision is outta the ?uestion, something about the intimacy in this album reminds me of Donny Hathaway's live albums.

Maybe becoz of Arif Mardin, Jerry Wexler, King Curtis and Cornell Dupree's involvment in the project.

I agree with the Donnie Hathaway comparison, man I love his live disc.

I love this album but I'm not familiar with this deluxe edition. Last year someone pointed me to the complete version (or something like that) with all of the King Curtis stuff but after I bought the King Curtis Live at the Filmore, I was unimpressed.

How much more is on this deluxe set? Does it include more King Curtis or does it have unreleased Aretha tunes?
