I'm just joking lol

I feel like her interviews speak right to her critics. She's just spoonfeeding them more fodder.

and Merideith tried once again to get her to admit that she regrets decisions she made in the past, and Madonna says again that she doesn't.

it's like they always want her to appologize for the Justify My Love through David Letterman era

And no matter how many times she says she has no regrets, I won't believe her. I think it's human nature to question your own motives and life decisions. It's not a sign of weakness.

But her interviews are just an act. Do you think she's really going to tell us what she thinks? lol

I realize that some of her answers have always been punctuated with a certain amount of entertainment value, but she's been standing by that "no regrets" answer for years now. I don't mean to say that she should feel any amount of shame over past decisions, on the contrary. However, to me it feels like she views admitting any degree of regret being tantamount to a character flaw. She's pretty much shown us her pap smear results, so I'm really okay with her admitting fault. Perhaps it's because I'm more intrigued by what people view as their own faults. I'm morbid that way, I guess.

It's probably one of her "success" techniques to not think about regrets. She's just moving forward with self-love and confidence, accepting the past as it is. I'm kind of the same way. There may be some things in my history that look strange, but I would not consider them as regrets so much as a growth process. And I would never want to dig into that material at an interviewers bidding. It would be like talking behind your own back.

There's a lot of truth to what you're saying. I dunno. Maybe I'm just so self-involved and critical that I assume everyone regrets and dwells on every little mishap the same way I do. lol I hope she at least regrets that fucking awful gold tooth.

She probably loves her gold tooth. She's her own best friend.

I don't see the point in regret. Everything you do, bad or good, teaches you a lesson and learning keeps life interesting and fun. Everything I've done (bad and good) has taught me a valuable life lesson and helped me mature and move one step closer to being a better human being. Madonna has done alot of questionable things in her past, but now she seems like a completely different person from the mid-late 80s, early 90s. She may still be bitchy, but I believe that she is a good mother. I don't think I would have ever seen the day when Madonna would be starring in a cartoon and writing children's books, but she learned from all her past experiences and used them to become a more reserved person. I feel that if you live to regret, you're going to miss out on a lot of life's great little detours. biggrin

I totally agree. Life deals hardships, and we're often responsible for them ourselves, but it doesn't mean we need to have regrets.

We can't change what we regret, and if we could somehow, we'd probably just regret something else, anyway.

I actually didn't think she came across all that bitchy. She was embarassed about the old clips, and she was pretty friendly (I didn't see the part when they went outdoors).

She was somewhat humble, admitting she had no idea she would become big when she made her first video.

She also had confidence (when she talked about how hard she worked after becoming famous) but why shouldn't she?

nah I have plenty, and I bet we all do, but I can understand her attitude

Since you can't change the things you regret, maybe the best attitude is to not regret them anymore.
