Im a casual Blur fan, The Gorillaz are very cool, The Clash...well, the Clash are the fucking CLASH. The vereve I ony know through Bittersweet Symphony. and Tony Allen is a freaking legend through his work w/Fela, and his solo work. This album(along w/Meshells Article 3) tops my must have list for eary '07. Has anybody heard any of the tunes on this disc? A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Yes, I've got an advance copy. It's not bad, but it's less than the sum of its parts. Borders on the dull. I've also got a copy of the Electric Proms gig where they played the whole album. Also borders on the dull. But I'm still going to see them in London in February. I'm a big Blur/Gorillaz fan, and as for The Clash ... well, they're one of my four favourite bands. Having said that, Simmo isn't exactly much cop as a bass player and never was. It was a joke of sorts in The Clash camp. Damon should have got Jah Wobble instead. There are three sides to every story. My side, your side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each one differently

I checked out a couple of the Electric Proms songs on you tube. some were very good, and I agree w/you, some were a bit...dry. I'm still anticipating the studio release, though. And you're right, a Jah Wobble/Tony Allen rhythm section would be Crucial. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

Not much cop - at least as singles. And that's the problem with the album as a whole - the songs are good, but none really stand out at all. I watched the live show on BBC1 the other night. I thought they had a great overall sound, but after four or so tracks, it became a little dreary.
A studio album might sway me. .

I've heard the live renditions 'Herculean' and 'Kingdom of Doom', but not the studio versions. So far 'Green Fields' and the second half of 'Threee Changes' have stood out the most. Production-wise, how are the studio versions? Sometimes blips and swooshes can work wonders. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

A studio album might sway me. Thats where I am too. A little dressing up would give the tunes a bit more dimension. A happy face, A Thumpin Bass, For A Lovin' Race. PEACE.

A studio album might sway me. I watched that as well. Well, sort of. I was flipping through channels and came across it. I had no idea what I was watching though. I just saw Damon Albarn and thought, "what IS this"? Then I fell asleep. It was late.
