James Brown Scotland Gig hello everyone,
i went 2 c james brown perform at the carling academy in glasgow in november last year. it was the only other gig that james played in britain, he was playing the london philaharmonics or some mad show like that, the next night and this was the main reason he was in town. the performance was one of the last he played and the show was excellent. he was looking a lot lighter than he did at his previous show at this venue in 2004 and he played a much shorter set, but he was on top form, commanding the band and busting random dance moves. the papers als reported that james was in agony during the show because he had dental surgery 3 days b4 hand, but was addament he would play the show. 2 hear of his death shocked me, this man coulnt b dead, not the 73 year old i had just seen 2 month ago?! during that gig james broke it down and spoke of the current trouble in the world, he mentioned the war and asked everyone 2 look 2 their left and right and tell the person next 2 them that they love them, something he repeated when a week later when he accepted his award and induction 2 the uk rock and roll hall of fame. it is a moment which ill always remember. coz the man was the greatest. | |

I saw him at the UK Music Hall of Fame aand although he did look a little thin, he still looked in what I thought was great form. I'm still reeling from the news of his death and am honoured to have seen him perform a couple of times which help me keep him alive forever The Hottest chip of them all - www.hotchip.co.uk - Get down with Prince

I must admit when I saw him perform on the UK Rock Hall of Fame on TV, I was quite shocked at how much thinner he seemed to be. For a moment, I wondered if he was seriously ill, but the energy of the show was still good, so I put it down to him going on a diet.
