Smoove Joint of The Day (1/8/07): Betty Wright, "After The Pain"

i remember my grandma eva bumping the mother wit album a lot and seeing the video for this cut back in the day. i haven't seen the video in yeeeeears, and it ain't on youtube neither, otherwise i'd be posting the link to it. pout

anyways, give it up for this joint if you remember it.

That one's OK but not one of my favorites. I guess because they severely overplayed it in my area and still do.

Blues is very big down here and they play the hell out of it on the blues station, blues clubs, and blues parties. When that song comes on, these women throw their hands in the air every time and start hollering....."Heyyyyy!!!!!" while they are slinging their heads. You know it's time to close your eyes before they sling geri curl juice in them.

They sure do! They start smiling and you can see their gold tooth. Many of them leave their barstool with their skintight spandex "Kelly Bundy" type miniskirts (weighing about 300 pounds) and start asking men to dance. When they come off the dancefloor afterwards, then they tell the men....."Honey, you can help me with my light bill?"....or....."Honey, my babies need new shoes for school". lol
