I have a special bond with this album. When I was a Kid, I used to go with my Dad to the local radio were he worked and DJ'ed. I remember seating in the other room listening to this while he made his radioshow. I was 10/11 and still living in the Azores. I miss those days! Strangely it's the only positive memory I have of my father.

Great compilation for those who only want the hits. But I ditched mine as soon as I purchased this set:






Contrary to popular belief, i don't think ABBA is solely a singles band. All their albums save the first one are great pop albums.

They keep trying to create another verison of that. Recently there was a set called "Number Ones" and I think it missed quite a few good ones but added a few as well.

My mom plays the SHIIIIIT out of Abba Gold. Apparently there is a second volume that has other hits like "I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do".

It is truly one of the best "Best Ofs" out there. It also brought them back the respect and popularity they deserve. It gave them a well needed renaisannce to thier catalog.

I can recall when just a few years prior to that coming out people made fun of them.
