are YOU a hipster? Funny article:
http://uncyclopedia.org/w..._a_hipster I love all kinds of music, but i'm somewhat of a musical snob when it comes to Country and Rap. I really just can't stand hardly any of it.... but that's just personal taste, not because I don't respect it, or I think it sucks. The cool thing about this forum is that folks are very open-minded and don't bash others for their musical tastes for the most part. I can never figure out how some folks feel like their musical tastes gives them some superiority over others, as if they are right and others are wrong. ya know? Anyways... lots of rock snobs out there. Show 'em this article when they get too obnoxious!!

But its ok to hate jazz, whatever. I'm not gonna feel guilty for not listening to rap,and I'm not small minded. I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

I'm not bragging! I was just admitting something. I'm not particularly proud of it. I need HELP!!!!! Someone needs to sit me down and show me how to enjoy Tim McGraw and Jay-Z. Oh, and also to enjoy their music.

Oh, and also to enjoy their music. i think there's good country and crap country/good hip hop and bad hip hop, just like there's good and crap with every genre of music. of course, "good" and "crap" are relative to the listener's taste. but speaking from my own tastes, it's really sad to know people who'll never give great music like johnny cash or public enemy a chance because "ALL country and ALL rap is horrible". there's good shit in every musical genre. it's just a matter of enjoying music enough to be open to it all.

I find both genres boring as hell. However, even though it's boring, I do respect country because the artists do have talent and it is real music even though it ain't my thing. I can't say the same for today's rap though. I have absolutely no respect for it whatsoever. Andy is a four letter word.

there is no forgiving that statement. nickelback aren't even the next nu shooz. see, in twenty years we'll all be slapping our foreheads and wondering how we were so blind to the musical innovations of nickelback. it was all right there, all along. brian eno will die sad and lonely because of them. not today, but eventually. mark my words lightly. look how long it took the rockist intelligensia to catch on to bowie's low album! i'm telling you, a hard rain is gonna fall - and it's going to be a rain of mullets and jesus goatees.
