Britney Spears fansite shutting down

I just saw on E! that one of the main site run by Britney Spears fans for Britney Spears fans is shutting down after 6 years because of her recent behavior (specifically the going commando photos).

Just thought I'd post that bit of entertainment news...hope it hasn't been posted already.

i kind of understandy why they are shutting down.... its because she is so nasty... I used to be a huge britney spears fan.... I wanted to sing, dance and dress like her.... I loved her videos and songs....

but after her reality show with Kfed I completely stopped like her... and eventually after she got married and had kids, I started to like her again and have respect for her.... but now she ruined everything when she went showing her vagina.
It made me not ever want to be a fan again.

I lost some respect for Britney when she turn trailer park trash on everyone (and that was right before marrying K-Fed).

To my ears, all of her career albums were a bunch of mix bags. Britney's biggest advantage is being a single-release artist. I still bump Baby One More Time & Slave 4 U from time to time.

I didn't care for Toxic at all. It was TOO weird of a song, IMO. And BTW, I'm very happy that Kylie reject that song that was intended for her Body Language album.

Even today, it's hard to believe that Cathy Dennis wrote this track.

The other Cathy Dennis-penned song Can't Get You Outta My Head is way sexier than Toxic. And my girl Lil'Kylie can play the fembot role very well!

Britney contributed almost nothing to Toxic. I've heard the Cathy Dennis demo that was leaked and it sounded almost the same as the one on Britney's album. Vocals and all. I guess this is no suprise though.

That's why it's good. It's Cathy singing on it. The chorus is all Cathy lol

Britney has never contributed musically to anything in any way.

I haven't heard the demo. I wondered which parts were still Cathy's (I'm guessing the strong vocals).

She sings the whole damn chorus and some of the pre-chorus verse. You hear two voices on there and Cathy's is the stronger one. Since the song is mostly chorus, it's essentially Cathy. I knew from the moment I heard it that Cathy was singing on there, and then I look in the credits on the single: "Background Vocals (LOL!): Cathy Dennis".

"Intoxicate me now with your lovin' now I think I'm ready now" - I think 90% of the volume there is Cathy. lol

evillol

Thankfully we had been exposed to Cathy's voice before during her own time as a pop star and it was very obvious. Britney sings about 3 lines in the song on her own lol

Smart girl she was to realize when her time as a star had passed and to continue on and make a shitload of cash with songwriting.

Trivia Note: Cathy is the female voice in PM Dawn's "Looking Through Patient Eyes".

From day one, Cathy Dennis was THE go-to girl for singing leads & hooks since her days with D-Mob (remember THAT group?).

At least with CGYOMH, Kylie IS on lead vocals.biggrin

But the backing vocals does sound like a mix of Kylie & Cathy.

Spears Fansite Closes

The most popular Britney Spears fan Web site WorldOfBritney.com is closing after its owner declared the controversial pop star is "done."

Ruben Garay, who has hosted WorldOfBritney.com since October 2000, yesterday announced the site will no longer exist after January 31 because the singer is "losing her identity and credibility with fans and industry people."

Garay says, "I still and will always respect Britney as a human being, we are just choosing to not go on with this site...

"I think that WoB has had its run. Its feet are not holding firm anymore, not because of my ability to run it, but because I believe Britney is unfortunately done (for me at least)."

Spears has been criticized by fans and the media this year for her parenting skills -- earlier this year she was visited by the Los Angeles' Department Of Children and Family Services after she was photographed driving with her baby son Sean Preston on her lap, and a month later when the tot fell out of his highchair at her Beverly Hills, Calif., home.

Spears' parenting skills were questioned again last month after she filed for divorce from husband Kevin Federline. The aspiring rapper filed court papers for sole custody of their two children, Sean Preston, 16 months; and Jayden James, 3 months, claiming he didn't know of their whereabouts.

Spears has repeatedly been photographed partying in Las Vegas, Miami, New York City and Los Angeles since their split, prompting speculation her mother Lynne is caring for the young boys.

It seems like everything was building up to her 2001 album, "Britney", which is a great pop album from a young star (even if it's a near blatant rip off of "All For You"). It all went downhill from there. Her movie apprently performed well enough to not be considered a total flop, but after that, "In The Zone" was sketchy and her personal life went into free fall! Even if she ever does make another album anymore, I don't think I give a shit. Everyone has their own problems and things they need to overcome but after that whole baby ordeal in the car, she should know better...for God sake, hang out with someone more stable than Paris Hilton!

Britney's movie was a flop! Period. rolleyes

As far as Britney's personal problems are concern, her own father & brother (political conservatives BTW) had done all they could in warning Britney about taking too many chances with her image (Remember the Lolita comparsion during the Baby One More Time-era?). But since we all know that the mother always had the final say when managing her daughter's career,.....well, let just say that mom has done a wonderful job turning her daughter into a trailer trash ho!

There, I said it! Granted, Britney is an adult that needs to take account for her negative behavior. But TBF, she didn't turn careless all by herself. Her own mother screw up for given her daughter too much freedom and not raising her to be responsible like her father would have.

According to IMDB (and Boxofficemojo), the movie cost $12M and made a shocking $37M in America alone! Considering it was univerisally panned and some of the shine was off Britney's career at that point (her singles weren't soaring up the charts). I'm shocked too, but that's considered not only not a flop, but a modest success. Most movies don't even make there money back in Amerian box office alone, yet shockingly, this did. It made another $23M in international box office. I'm not saying it's a good movie (I've never seen it and unlike "Glitter", it's probably not even "entertaining" enough to watch just to make fun of) but sorry, it was actually a hit. That being said, no won tried to repeat the success with her and when she was in Austin Powers 3 later that year (My God, why did I see this one in a theather) she was almost booed off the screen until Austin destoryed her or whatever and people cheered!

Britney is an interesting character study... like watching a trainwreck.

I really think the girl has manic-depression issues. I read she passed-out during a New Year's Eve party, and her dancers had to carry her out????? eek

I think some of these artist need to distant themselves from their employees a bit, but that's just me. lol
