I'm hoping my holy trinity of alterna-chicks put something out. I know they've all been busy.
Apparently Tori's working on something completely different. Bjork's collaborating with Timbaland. This could be either really awesome or really predictable. PJ Harvey's writing songs on piano. I'm getting excited about the rumors of Prince putting something out the week after the Superbowl. We'll see what happens. Robert Smith says that he's got enough for a double album. Just those 5 acts alone can make 2007 better than last year for me.

Massive Attack has a new one coming out called "Weather Underground". I haven't found a leaked copy yet. I LOVED 100th Window, so I'm really looking forward to it.
The new AIR one hasn't grown on me yet. It's a bit too mellow and forgettable so far. I had no idea NIN had another one coming out so soon, but thats great news.

Well actually January/February already have that i want than all of 2006 had, pretty much. Which is a surprise since usually labels dont put out good stuff this time of year.
In January John Mellencamp, back once again with a simple rock, folk record, 10-12 tracks 45 minutes, the way god planned releases to be. Norah Jones out on January 30th, this album actually could have been my favorite album of last year since i have heard almost everything at her exclusive club show. Norah wrote all 13 tracks, those of you who love Norah like me, check out the LTD edition with DVD and bonus songs. Katharine McPhee, thats right the american idol girl. Mainly i hate that show and everything that has come from it, but this girl can sing, and im sure production will ruin her vocals, but i am really glad that Timbalands and Ryan Leslie's songs were removed, in place of 4 songs penned by Katharine. Mya, well a def date is still not known, simply because MOTOWN has its head up its ass as usual. "Liberation" is a solid record once again, even more diverse than "Moodring" was, MYA steps into some acoustic soul, rock and funk, and of course ballads, and as always with MYA very personal and "straight up" lyrics. Amerie, well this cd is kind of out already, but who knows when and what will be on it when Sony releases it, and if it will be with Sony. Amerie is a bit harder edged on this record than the last one, mainly because she has been screwed left and right and called a wanna-be-yonce too many times, though Ameries tracks all were done first, (dont get me started on that scumbag, Rich Harrison). But hey thats the nature of the business, Amerie at least took this release to the streets, literally, with the first ever RB mix tape, done. As for the rest of this year, well Duran Duran of course, though i can do without Justin Timberlake on their album and production from Timba-lame, sorry but his beats and production needs to take a break for awhile, its all sounding the same again. Other releases, theres most likely gonna be another a-Ha record in late 2007, so that will save another year for me, and they are looking to release a DVD from their 2005-06 tour of the World minus the US of course. "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I heard a rumour Ryan Adams will be releasing another 3 albums this year. I shall wait with breath that is baited. Some of the new stuff I've heard live was fantastic - albeit hardly groundbreaking. [Edited 1/4/07 3:05am]
