Give it up for Little Richard.

I was watching the Fox News Channel interview Little Richard last Thursday concerning James Brown. Little Richard said...."James Brown and me grew up together. I was James Brown's idol. Uh, James Brown idolized me honey!". The man is so hilarious.

Then, they asked him if he was going to the funeral and he said "I'm going to be in Biloxi, Mississippeh New Year's Eve". I would loved to have driven to Biloxi but I'm too broke. Anyway, I bought a Little Richard's Greatest Hits CD instead (these dead asses today have finally driven me into checking out stuff from the 50s lol ). To my surprise, I enjoyed every track on the CD and every other lyric was.....

WOOOOO!!!!!

Anyway, who else likes Little Richard?

Richard is one of my musical idols - a living legend (not many of them around now). 'Lucille', 'Tutti Frutti' and 'Good Golly Miss Molly' will never die.

And he is such an entertaining individual. I once heard him present a radio series, playing music he had mainly selected, and almost everyone he played Richard said, 'I taught him everything he knows', 'He is so influenced by me.' And half the time, he was telling the truth! biggrin

He may have stepped back from making any viable new music long ago, but his contributions should never be forgotten.

He has some great tales about being on the road with James Brown and others back in the '50s. A true original.

I'm really partial to "rip it up" and "all around the world". Richard was Prince back in the day,for the most part.
