It's widely known that Matthew Knowles doesn't allow songwriters to work on Beyonce's recordings unless she's included in songwriting credits, whether she contributes or not... They talked about this on Doug Bank's show last year.
Nice try Papa Knowles.... And what kills me, is that she won an ASCAP award for songwriting a few years back....ugh.. [Edited 1/3/07 19:48pm]

Beyonce did an ok job in Dreamgirls and I think she does a good song singing Listen. I think she gets dogged unfairly when it comes to Dreamgirls. Yes we all loved Jennifer Hudson's performance. It was GREAT but I'm not doing the comparsion game. I think Beyonce played her part pretty good. but on the topic My punk ass still hasn't seen the movie BUT in the clip they showed on Oprah of them turning their wigs back, I gotta say that was the first time I thought that the child could act at all. I'm looking forward to seeing her performance & hope he's grown as an actress, especially if she insists on acting up in hea

Too bad the whole thing was stolen from Amerie's "1 Thing", when daddy Knowles heard the track and thought it was cool so he had Sony shelve Ameries project so Beyonce could get her hands on that low life Rich Harrison. Both Rich Harrison and Matthew Knowles should have been sued, but hey Amerie at least wont have to worry about KARMA. It wasn't stolen from Amerie.... Both songs came from Rich Harrison

If that kills you how about this - she's the only black woman to ever win the ASCAP songwriting award. Not Roberta Flack, Valerie Simpson, Angela Winbush, etc.

All this Beyonce publicity is out fo control. Her father needs to get her a damn voice coach for public speaking. She sound so dumb in interviews and has a twang.
As for Jennifer Hudson, she tore that sh*t up! She deserves an Oscar if anyone. She (I think) never did any acting before, didn't have an album before American Idol and she did a helluva job.

That's really sad. Beyonce knocking out Bootylicious on a plane flight and Roberta, Brenda and Valerie-damn-Simpson playing and writing and composing classics and not an ASCAP amongst them? Both songs came from Rich Harrison Actually it was a theft, which is why Rich Harrison and Amerie have split their partnership in production. Amerie did co-produce and co-write "1 Thing", long before Beyonce's "crazy in love" was born. But Matt Knowles heard the track at a Sony office and made sure the track didnt get out, AND made sure he got Rich Harrison on Beyonce's team since she needed something new and fresh coming out of Destiny Child. Well like they say money talks and Producers are nothing more than Beats for hire at this point. Amerie's track got shelved, Rich worked with Beyonce, so by the time Amerie came out, she looked like the wanna-be-yonce, though she did it first, though Amerie would still score a Top 10 hit and Gold record, she obviously saw the writing on the wall so to speak. But it would happen again, Amerie's track "Talkin Bout" would also GET shelved as the third single as Beyonce worked on her second solo record and Bam there you had "FreakUm Dress". Well you can see why Rich Harrison is non existent on Amerie's upcoming project and circulating RB mix tape, though she gets a good shot in with a song that is very similar to Beyonces/Harrisons "Green Light". You people are so naive. It is common practice for a singer's name to be put on the writer credits of a song to make them seem "authentic". I could give you recent examples that I know of where a singer unconnected with the writing of a song got 60% of the writer royalties.

So, did J. Lo steal that beat from Amerie or Beyonce? I'm soo confused. Prince Rogers Nelson

JesseDezz said: It was/is? a common practice. Leonard Chess and people he owed favors to were counted as "songwriters" on many Chess artists' records, when in fact, he nor his business associates wrote a word or strummed a chord. Berry Gordy was also known to change a word or two in a song and get credit as a co-writer...
