Spandau Ballet, Gold.

Pure cheeze, pure beauty. Makes you wanna put on a nicely tailored Italian suit and do breezy pop. Ahhh.

I sort of agree with you. Chant No 1 is superb.

They keep trying to reform but Tony Hadley refuses to join in because of his legal battle with Gary Kemp.

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

Oh yeah, heart this song, even though the lyrics are kinda weird.

Gold
Spandau Ballet
Music & Lyrics Gary Kemp

Thank you for coming home
I'm sorry that the chairs are all worn
I left them here I could have sworn
These are my salad days
Slowly being eaten away

Just another play for today
Oh, but I'm proud of you, but I'm proud of you
Nothing left to make me feel small
Luck has left me standing so tall

Chorus:

Gold (gold)
Always believe in your soul
You've got the power to know
You're indestructible
Always believe in, that you are
Gold (gold)
Glad that you're bound to return
There's something I could have learned
You're indestructible, always believe in...

After the rush has gone
I hope you find a little more time
Remember we were partners in crime
It's only two years ago
The man with the suit and the pace
You knew that he was there on the case
Now he's in love with you, he's in love with you
And love is like a high prison wall
But you could leave me standing so tall

(Chorus)

(Instrumental break)

And love is like a high prison wall
But you could leave me standing so tall

Gold (gold)
Always believe in your soul
You've got the power to know
You're indestructible
Always believe in, 'cause you are
Gold (gold)
I'm glad that you're bound to return
Something I could have learned
You're indestructible, always believe in...
(Gold)

WTF, "I'm sorry that the chairs are all worn", and "These are my salad days". falloff I've never been able to make sense of those lyrics. lol
RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

OH FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS SACRED, I ADORE THIS SONG.

I wish you could get inside my mind and hear how I hear all these songs. Dear Goodness.

I know,he has a good voice(he recently performed at the BigBand concerts with Chack Khan as top of the bill).
Me and my friends just made fun of them because we were rockers lol
Later we did like Duran Duran and Pet Shop Boys...but no Spandua Ballet ill

You amaze me sometimes, y'know? MES wouldn't approve, I'm sure. I picked that album out of a $0.50 bargain bin in '88 and thought it was surprisingly enjoyable.
