Erykah's NYE show My woman was funkier--make that FONKIER--than ever. It was the shit. She looked like a million dollars. Some leopard print booty shorts over black tights and she actually danced more than I've ever seen. The setlist to the best I can remember for you fellow Baduites who care:
Intro Hymn (Improvised) Booty Kiss Me On My Neck --New Year-- I Want You Otherside of the Game On & On ...& On Cleva Didn't Cha Know Love of My Life (w/ tribute to Ice Cube) You Got Me (SPECIAL GUEST JILL SCOTT!!!!) New Song ("Vibration?")--HOT Tyrone (snippet)--cut it short:"Yall don't wanna hear that old BOOOLSHIT" Ye Yo New Song ("Dirty?") Bag Lady Back in the Day Woo Appletree Danger New Song I know I can't do it justice and some of the order is mixed up, but it was the best way to ring in 07. I think one or two of ya were there. Peace! I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Erykah Badu, saw her once in Hamburg in 2001, great show... " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

she is GREAT live. She didn't specifically say anything about a new album but the new songs were slamming. It was an amazing way to bring in the New Year. Her positivity throughout the show had me all goose-bumpy. I love this woman beyond all get out. When Jill Scott got on stage I got a glimpse of what religious folk call heaven. Man, I was teary-eyed. I had a very challenging weekend and I almost cancelled to stay home and mope and feel sorry for myself but man I'm glad I went. My head is still ringing with "Believe in yourself if you believe in brighter days." There was a very funny moment after the confetti and balloons of the new year finally bursted and there was some sense of order so the show could progress, she wished everyone prosperity in the new year and she wished "all black and brown people prosperity and all red and yellow people prosperity and to the white people prosperity again..." I'm sure I'm misquoting it was something to that effect. But the rainbow of people in the audience gave her all kinds of love. It was such a great night. All races grooving and I was pleasantly surprised to see so many of my gay brothers anad sisters. Overall an unforgetable night... "...literal people are scary, man literal people scare me out there trying to rid the world of its poetry while getting it wrong fundamentally down at the church of "look, it says right here, see!" - ani difranco

This woman cannot release enough music as far as I'm concerned. It's a double edge sword with her. A CD every few centuries guarantees she's not played out and burnt out on the fans but damn girl, you know we're jonesin like heroin addicts ova here Glad you had a great time baby. 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

[Edited 1/1/07 15:42pm] Not sure of the titles: Vibration: Midtempo jam, with a funky guitar riff, she's singing about calling some guy from a club so they can hook up or something...very hot and sexy. Surprising, almost her answer to a Janet or TLC slow jam but of course with a Billie Holiday-esque coo. She said "I ain't finished with this one yet." Dirty: Another sexual song! It goes something like "I like the way you love me/you keep it dirty dirty." A little faster tempo, also a ghetto/hook up vibe. Almost commercial sounding (for her at least). Last song: "I am the moon/I am the (something)"...very slow, soothing, mellow ballad that sounds not unlike "Orange Moon." I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Badujunkie, I dont recognize you with your new avatar.
Sounds like an awesome show. I think I would have lost it when Jill walked out just at the sheer surprise of it and because they rocked that song on Dave Chappelle's Block Party. I hate to say it but like Sade part of me has given up on new material from Erykah. I mean I know it'll come out one day but I'm not anxious anymore. As for the show that's was a great way to bring in the new year. Maybe some clips will wind up on YouTube. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
