It would be hard to find Madonna's defintive songs that she wasn't a writer of. Cyndi's a great writer, though. "Hat Full of Stars" might be one of the most beautiful songs ever! Does anyone here have her "The Great Cyndi Lauper" import boxed set. It's super cheap at Best Buy (probably on their site as well)...Only $13.99 for three discs that includes all of her hits and super rarer hits like "Goonies R Good Enough" and "Hole In My Heart (That Goes All the Way To China)". Gotta get that if you don't have it! I've got that set and it's tight! If you don't have it, you got to go get it. For $13.99, even the most causal fan couldn't say no and I would say I'm not hardcore about her at all. Before this, I only owned that very stingy "Essentail" collection which I only chose over "12 Deadly Cyns" because of "Gonnies"...I will say after buying this three disc set, I would be interested in owning full albums, though.

I haven`t got that album, but the tracklist is impressive and long... "Goonies r` good enough" is one of my favorite Cyndi Lauper songs, and also "That`s what i think", which is included there. Has anyone else seen "Live in Paris"?

I always thought her "Live At Last" DVD was her first concert video release, which I figured the title hinted toward (unless it was because she did that song).

It must be her version of the Blonde Ambition DVD!

I don`t know, but i would guess so. She ends the show with a Jackie Wilson song, "Baby workout" and a beautiful acapella version of "True colors"...

I've heard so many good points on this thread that I'm going back and 4th. (BTW Congrats non-prince forum on an actual constructive debate. I always knew it would happen someday). Speaking strictly from their debuts, Cyndi Lauper was something more unique. Before she had a real chance 2 grow in2 her artistry, Madonna could b compared 2 a slew of other dance club artists of the time (and was). Cyndi Lauper has always been in a class all her own. While 'Madonna' was a more consistent listen, 'She's So Unusual' was definitely a more seminal record 2 Cyndi's career.
So yeah, my Madge fandom notwithstanding, I vote 4 Cyndi. She is LONG overdue 4 some respect in the music world. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917
