This is the album that Jarvis Cocker wrote most of the lyrics for right? I heard about it on another thread (maybe from you actually ) Odd that she would have him write most of the lyrics for her. They don't sound like typical Jarvis lyrics though, which is interesting. Funny because I was just watching this documentary about Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin and slowly realized that she was their daughter. There are some cool pics of her w/ Jarvis on her site though. In the end, I have to go with Stadium Arcadium. Such a staggering collection of great new songs. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Grabbed me harder than any other album released in 2006; also got me back into Pearl Jam in a big way. After 6 months of repeated listens, it might not be quite on the level of No Code/Vitalogy/VS, but still remains my favorite album of '06. I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I liked this one for sure, just not my #1. Although the Whip You With A Strap beat is on Donuts ("One For Ghost").

No, I missed it It was only in select theatres and the closest to me was 70 miles away. I was priviledge to be one of the 100 fans to go to the taping of VH1 Storytellers, for free, back in September. I got to sit in the front row, in front of Martie!!!! I've been a long time fan since their first album on a major label, "Wide Open Spaces"

I've been a long time fan since their first album on a major label, "Wide Open Spaces" If you're already a fan, you'll LOVE the movie! It'll come out on DVD, I'm sure. It features songs from Taking The Long Way heavily. I'd say the film is actually about that album and what brought them to it and the journey they had to take to get there. It's great stuff and says a lot about the pain of being an artist. Very moving and meaningful.
