I think we clearly see some artists who are doing better in other markets than the USA, (Pink,PCD,Madonna,Shakira,Rihanna,U2 etc) and then some that are depending mostly on their US sales, (Carrie Underwood, High School High,Kelly clarkson). I think if we look further down this chart we will find artists that dont even chart/release in the US market at all.

i'm surprised u218 has sold so well. it only came out in november and other than two new tracks, its another hits cd.

and, yeah, madge didn't do so bad during a year with no new record.

but the numbers could start as early as nov last yr or as late as dec of last yr

Well, the album has sold more than 3.5 million copies worldwide, so I'm guessing that they didn't start in November of last year. Hell, the album sold almost 4.5 million copies in Europe alone.

I agree. Nice to see that, indeed. I love "Sorry' and the fact that it didn't hit here tells me that America is still under the influence of hip-hop shlock (it explains Fergie's hits, that's for sure).
