Jam Of The Day: "It's Hard To Stop Doing Something That's Good To Ya" by Betty Wright

I recently bought Betty Wright's greatest hits and I love this jam. The bassline reminds me of "I Don't Want To Lose Your Love" by The Emotions.

Anybody into this one?

Very true. She's kinda bluesy, and down here in the South, they consider her a blues artist. However, that track is pure funk.

(It could be called that too)

Not all the changes in music are bad. But other than that, it's a nice track.

"Clean Up Woman" was brought to me by a guitarist friend as funk and while I hear the blues in her work...I like hearing the funk fro

Shirley Brown, Barbara Mason, Jean Knight(not sure if she's southern) and Dorothy Moore.....and Al Green???

I think he's Clarence Reid when he writes tunes like that.
He's Blowfly when he writes International Prick & Panty Lines. lol

I thought woogiebear was kidding about Blowfly. lol I had never heard of Blowfly until I picked up his 1980 12 Inch, "Rapp Dirty".
