Official Grammy Nominations Bitch 'N' Moan Thread

Well the noms are due to be announced in a few hours, so I thought I'd start our annual thread.

Mary J Blige, James Blunt, Chris Brown, Josh Groban, Amy Lee from Evanescence, Ludacris, Corinne Bailey Rae, Rascal Flatts, Justin Timberlake, and KT Tunstall are scheduled to announce the nominations....which means all of them are getting at least one. barf

No need for me to bitch and moan about the nominations. For years now, 99% of the ones nominated have been bullshit artists so that's all I expect to be nominated from now on. Nowadays, I feel the opposite about who should be nominated. These days I get pissed when I see someone that I do like get nominated because it means they may possibly sellout on their next album. And considering the competition these days, winning an award, or even being nominated for one, is actually an insult.
Andy is a four letter word.

Alright, so Black Sweat is up for 2, Beautiful, Loved And Blessed is up for 1, 3121 (the song) is up for 1, and the whole album is up for 1.

I know nothing about the competition - anyone want to inform me who's likely to win?

Oh well, at least Prince is nominated for some. Hopefully he'll win one. Not that he cares about things like that.

They got mentioned in the sub-genre categories, nods for Best Dance Recording & Best Electronic/Dance album. Might lose both to Madge, though.

I know, but the Grammys are clueless about dance so it will probably go to the most undeserving nominee. I mean these people think Freemasons Mix of Deja Vu was one of the best mixes of the year. lol

But Goldfrapp should have been recognized on a large scale.

I agree (with the vomitrocious part as well lol ) I think Prince will get at least one, but he's up against quite a bit of competition in a few of those categories. It's nice that they remembered him though.

Where are you seeing remixes? I hope the best remix of the year, Madonna's "Sorry" PSB Maxi Mix is up! Love that shit!

Not a bad year. Predictable, of course but you kind of got to give it up to Mary. Cool artists like Bailey and Gnarls Barkey deserve nods....good for them. And "Black Sweat", my favorite Prince song in years up for many nods....Great! Pet Shop Boys up against Madonna...kind of conflicted since the albums are good but the singles they have in the single catogery aren't my favorites (I think I would go with "I'm With Stupid" but voters probably won't).

I would do naked cartwheels if Goldfrapp got their just due (had Felt Mountain caught fire, it would've been a credible left field pick), but the old farts filling out the ballots aren't going to put a dance act in the big 5. Ever. I agree with the academy on the Deja Vu mix, tho.boxed If they had to give Freemasons a mention, I would've preferred Luther's Shine to get in, but I ain't mad at it. I'm shocked Nelly's Maneater was totally ignored there.

Vocally one of the most questionable songs! I think if "Irrestaible" was a single, it would be getting that nod (if not the pop nod....it's very pop).

I stopped reading after I saw My Humps nominated for something other than Trash of the Year.
Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off
