I really really really wish he would just DUMP all current producers and make a record on his own and not care about trying to top Thriller or appeal to tweens.

Well, not yet, cause R. Kelly's trial is just now getting started after all of these years. Im surprised it aint making headlines.

No one cares, that's why. R Kelly is nothing anymore. Last week's news.

R. wasn't messing with White kids and he wasn't messing with little boys. No racism plus no homophobia equals no big deal.

It's so funny how he would work with ppl like Tempamental, Shaquille O'Neill,Eddie Murphy, R Kelly, Babyface,Teddy Riley, well talentless ppl but never recorded any tracks with James Brown, Bill Withers, Bobby Womack, Curtis Mayfield, well the real deal in terms of black music,.....just a thought lol

r.kelly, babyface and teddy riley (as well as shaq and eddie on their own levels) are hardly talentless people
he's worked with stevie wonder, diana ross, minnie riperton and quincy jones just to name a few, are they not the real deal of black music?
yea, i know...

So back to "Gangsta" - what the hell was this in the end?

Was this a real song or did they just sample an unreleased MJ song?

We are still unsure about the track at this point. MJ's people won't answer questions about it.

However, something new has happened in regards to the song....

UPDATE:
The song's title has changed from "Gangsta" to "No Friend Of Mine" on Tempamental's MySpace.

I'm just offering an alternative view on his music. Not everyone considers his music bad and you shouldn't judge his music until you know it.

What the hell are you talking about? I own all his damn records. lol

Michael takes time. A LOT of time. So much time worrying about whether or not his album is going to be the next Thriller that it ceases to be interesting anymore. He'd probably make a good album again if he just quit the worrying and got on with it.

If it works or not is up to the listener, but that's his objective. Prince is more about quantity and tries to release as much music as possible, which means he doesn't really care if some tracks aren't as good as others, he just wants his music to get out there, as much of it, as quick as he can.

Actually it means he's prolific, nothing more. Back in the day, much like Michael, no matter how much he released, 99% of it was good. They are both way past their primes, and it definitely shows now.

I think that others-non-fans,some fans and media- are more worried about MJ making another "Thriller-like" album than he is. I don't hear him brining that up, it is ALWAYS someone else. In fact, since the Dangerous album, he has basically said that he is not trying to make another "Thriller";but, only music from his heart that he hopes that his fans will enjoy. He has also said that he knows that he will never sell as much as Thriller, so he doesn't worry about it.

As far as the time between albums, Michael always takes around 4 years to release his album. If the fake allegations hadn't occured, we would have had an album in 2003. Therefore, if you consider that the trial took two years of his life and his career, he is basically on track when he releases his new album in 2007.

Therefore, if you consider that the trial took two years of his life and his career, he is basically on track when he releases his new album in 2007.

Did you see the Access Hollywood interview where the interviewer said "There was nothing ever better than that [Thriller]. That is the biggest album ever. If you went back and took it to a second chapter..." to which Michael said "that's a great idea". Obviously trying to be nice to the poor guy, as he was doing when he told Bashir he was good at the moonwalk. I really hope he was just being nice and just shrugged off the suggestion. Because it's definately the worst suggestion anyone has ever made to Michael Jackson and I hope he isn't considering it.

And with time between albums, he was on fire back in the early 80s. After he made "Off The Wall" in 1979, he made the "Triumph" album with his brothers (which was released in 1981, I think), he toured to promote the album, and still had time to write and record the "Thriller" album for a December 1982 release. I hope he is in that same mindset now. But when you think about, he's never taken a really long time to make albums. After "Thriller" was released (late 82) he spent all of 1983 making videos to promote the album, and must've been doing some writing for the upcoming "Victory" album, which was released in 1984 and followed by a tour. When 1985 came around I suspect he was allready working on the "Bad" album, but got sidetracked a little with "We Are The World". I think he would've have had the album out by 1986 if it hadn't been for "Captian EO" which I guess took a while to film and I presume it was more important to Michael that "Captian EO" was done before "Bad" (all though I don't know why). "Bad" was out in 1987, he spent that year and the next touring. Then ofcourse there was the "Decade" project which was probably started in 1989. It was planned for a 1990 release but as some of you would know Michael wrote so many songs (much more than the 4 songs he had planned to include as part of the greatest hits collection) that he and Sony abandoned "Decade" and moved on to make "Dangerous" which was out in 1991, meaning it only really took a year to make. He toured in 1992 and a bit of 1993 and as who know, he was pre-occupied in 1993 with the child molestation accusations which took until 1994 to settle. So he's working on "HIStory" in 1994, a big project because not only did he have to make a new studio album, but had to compile a greatest hits album to go along with it, and he had it out by 1995 (which I think is pretty good). I think the "HIStory" tour kicked off in 1995 and finished in 1997. In 1997 he also released the "Blood on the Dance Floor" album (not a hard project that would take a long time to make, as producers did most of the work, remixes "HIStory" songs and digging up old archived songs that were never released). He also made the "Ghosts" mini-movie, which by the looks of it was hard work and probably time consuming. So he kept himself fairly busy in 1997, which means work on the "Invincible" album probably didn't start until 1998. He had it finished and ready to release in 1999, but something went wrong (and if you were a fan at the time, you would know that everything seemed to be ready to go in 1999, but it all went astray). It's been said that Michael wasn't happy with the album, and delayed it's release until 2001, reworking it as much as he could and perfecting it to his liking. So overall he spent 3-4 years on this album, but this album came under special circumstaces. It was ready after only a year of working on it, but something obviously went wrong, and not many people know exactly what went wrong and what caused a huge 2 year delay on its release. He could've started working on new songs in 2002, but when 2003 came around there were a few things that came between him and making new music. First there was the Bashir documentary which took a few months to film, probably taking up alot of Michael's time. Then there was the "Number Ones" album which Michael was the executive producer of and I hear he spent a lot of time refining and perfecting the tracklist and editing certain songs as to fit them on an 80 minute disc, and whatever else came with the job. He also included a new song on the album, which he shot a video for which was never completely finished. So by the time the end of 2003 came around, he probably hadn't made too much new music because he was too pre-occupied with other projects. We also know that at the end of 2003 something dreadful happened and Michael was once again falsely accused of child molestation. This time it amounted to a criminal trial. The trial was held in 2005, meaning 2004 was free for making music, but who wants to make music when the whole world suspects you're a child molester and you are facing 20 years in prison (some say it would be an ideal time to write music, but maybe that's not how Michael works). And don't forget he also compiled "The Ultimate Collection" which he was also executive producer of, and which would've took a lot of time and effort because he had to dig up old archived songs and remaster them. I bet the last think Michael felt like doing was going back to work. So 2005 came along, with probably not a lot of new music under his belt. He sat through a criminal trial and in the end was declared innocent. He went off to another country to relax and get away from it all. Although he hinted at the possibility of certain projects which evidently fell through (Hurricane Katrina charity single), I don't think he worked too much in 2005. I don't think he announced he was going back to work until 2006 sometime, and I don't think he seriously got into making a new album until very recently. So with a good track record (most albums made within 1 or 2 years), I definately can see the new album being released this year.

First I wanna say;I'm really tired of people always comparing new songs/albums
with the artists biggest succes(Thriller,Purple Rain).
I don't want another PR,I loved SOTT and other albums just as much.

Talking about Gangsta, the song isn't great but it shows how MJ still has it and I'm sure if he releases an new album a lot of people will listen 2 it,if only 2 hear that great and familiar voice again.
If he stays away of this rap stuff and just makes the music he loves!
