There's one thing I truly wish... I recently released an album (through CDBaby - an independant distributor) after unsuccessfully trying to get into the music business for over 20 years.
Knowing I'm not going to sell many copies, and having the music rejected continuously, I actually wish I could give the album to Prince and ask him, "OK - What's wrong with it?" I'd *love* for him to tell me his views on what I could do differently to make my songs better, being he is the person I look up to the most in that field. It is very frustrating, when you put everything you have into your songs, and nobody cares for them (outside of your own family and friends, of course - but they are most likely just being nice). Anyway... I'm rambling now... Bob

I doubt it's your songs. The industry is a tough place, especially THESE days!! It's all gonna crumble -- you're lucky you won't be in the middle of it. Anyway, if you want, keep trying -- be persistent. Major labels are only in it for the "one-off" big seller (in most cases), but a lot of the smaller independent labels will back you for life and make you family, so at least you can make a living off your music. Though, personally, I think it's all a huge headache right now, especially if you're trying to make some money. If you just want to make art for the sake of making art, then there really is no better time than now. No string attached. There are SO MANY different ways to share and be a part of the music community. Peace!

You've gotta do it only because YOU love it, not because you're expecting others to. A hard lesson, but once learned, the process becomes much more rewarding. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
