Who will still be hear years from now?

The music industry is so devoted to the almighty buck, that in a couple years many artists who kicked out jams will be long forgotten. Labels are creating money makers...not artists. When is the last time someone came out who will be a legend? There are no more Marvin Gayes, Princes, James Browns etc.? Share your thoughts my friends.

Exactly my thoughts.
I think record companies don't even care about it,
& that geniune artists will have to go more & more the indie way, so be curious kids, and don't buy everything you see on MTV.

well the recording industry might change in a few decades.

surely, a smart artist would be able to have talents that appeal to a broad audience and be buisness smart and that way she/he can become a legend.

It is still possible to become a legend without "appealing to a broad audience and being business smart"...

Not Many.I watched MTV Video Awards&I was tripping when I saw Usher&Justin Timberlake so Blantly jacking MJ's on Stage Vibe&Mannerisms.but the problem these Acts face is that they aren't allowed to Grow as Artists themselves.they sell a Ton but have no Idenity.MJ,Prince,Steve,Marvin,James,Sly,Jimi,Aretha,Miles,EWF,etc,etc.etc...had there own thing&were able to explore.all acts start off as Sponges but somewhere hopefully they find there own Paddle&row there own Baot.but the Industry doesn't want that any longer.I was reading the Dixie Chicks Interview in Billboard during the past week&one of the members said She felt that the Biz could be done within a Decade because of so many factors.I could see it go down.
