A good excuse...
...to repost this picture of the band. Not very fond of the Jimi Hendrix & Ray Charles covers (he just doesn't have the voice for it) but the fine playing on the record (due to the able assistance of Steve Jordan & Pino Palladino) signals his emancipation from teeny-pop chick crowd (at least temporarily). tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. It's a good prologue to Continuum, in that Try represents a blues-rock introduction to a very bluesy, soulful album. I dig both muchly.
On the bluesier tracks, you really hear the SRV coming through in his singing and playing. He also owes much to Charlie Sexton, whose look he's aping pretty hard with the long hair and crooked-mouth singing. But, I dig Johnny for being Johnny and for being true to his R&B roots. More power to him.

Happy Holidays,
Loved it, this cat is a monster guitarist who def does sound a little too much SRV at times on this album, but we all wish we could. As someone said earlier I expect only better things to come and will continue to support any project he puts out. He is a student of music and has the talent to take it to new places. Love the 12/8 shade of green with all the little changes and inflections. He tore it up Music is the best...
