Then when East Coast materialist/playa rap came into vogue in the late 90s thanks to Biggie, Bad Boy and Puff Daddy, that's when he switched up and got all hustlerish with "We Be Clubbin'." He had some flashes of hotness on the Westside Connection Bow Down album but his solo material just plain sucked after '93.

I stopped purchasing his albums after Bootlegs & B-Sides. Lil Ass G was a wack song and to answer another question, he started to branch into other areas of entertainment (movies) and his lyrics suffered.

Althoug I did not agree with 90% of what he was saying, it was some of the most biting social commentary (AmeriKKa's MOst Wanted, Death Certificate-My favorite, and The Predator).

That said, I've carried on buying his stuff (a prolific THREE CDs of original material in twelve years) in the hope that I'll hear some of the old magic again, but he's pulling the same old rabbits out of the same old hats ...
