I was grooving to "i Can't tell you why"&was feeling the flow of there Playing&Vocals.nowadays they would be Considered a Country Band.there Work Cuts through many Areas IMHO.thoughts on the Eagles:

hate them. when i had a medical ordeal in 94, it was when the "Hell Freezes Over" reunion songs were big on radio. i can't tell you how much i hate them. the sound of them every single day on the radio while i was in the shower in extreme pain trying to keep a bandaged catheter on my shoulder from getting wet has turned me off of them forever.


they suck. the sound of them makes me want to vomit.

"I Can't Tell You Why" (1979) is one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE SONGS! That song is just wonderful!! Nice arrangement,cool,understated lead vocals,great guitar at the end,it's a masterpiece.

But,I love many other Eagles songs too."Hotel California"(1977) just blows my mind..."Best Of My Love"(1975) is simply heavenly..."One Of These Nights"(1975) is another classic.I have their box set and it's fantastic!

I wanted to see the Eagles in concert this summer,but they're not playing in my area.

I love me some Eagles. Best Of My Love..that opening to One Of These Nights is the shit. Sound s all evil and ominous, like something wicked this way is coming or lie a bad moon is rising. Reminds me of when Magic Mountain used to have that Troll as its mascot before Sixx Fags, I mean Flags took it over. They try to pull of a soul falsetto in tribute to an earlier era and for the most part they pull it off imho. Take It To The Limit was inspired by Harold Melvin and da Bluenotes' If You Dont Know Me By Now. They loved them some soul regardless of them being California Rock-country. Hotel California is a reggae song...thats how they meant it to be..if you listen to it close enough (the geetar licks etc) you can hear the reggae vibe to it. After they stated that it was a raggae song , I can only hear it as that ever since. They just put that mellow acoustic strumming vibe to the fore of the song, but listen to the electric guitar licks and you can hear the reggae. I can hear a thousand reggae bands doing Hotel California. Plus the lyrics...if you live in southern Cali its a song that reminds you of when you are driving towards the west at sunset. They caught that emotion and feel like a mutha. And if you hear it at night while youre driving alone it becomes eerie. Dark desert highways. Some chick beconing you to come to "this place hotel" L.A. as hell has never sounded so good. Plus the ending guitar coda is perfect for air guitaring like a mutha. Plus what about the lyrics to Best Of My Love when he says "Every morning I wake up and worry..whats gonna happen today?" Thats the shit. "wastin our time, with cheap talk and wine"...Lyin Eyes talking about a woman whos getting dressed to go out and cheat on her man to the cheatin part of town cause her man just aint treatin her like the woman she is. And yeah, I Cant Tell You Why..so simple and so perfect. Thats the thing with The Eagles songs...you can sing them and not sound so terrible. They are made to sing with a good voice or a fucked up voice. ha! They arent trying to be Zappa either with the music. Don Henley got that Michael McDonald voice thing goin for him too but folks dont hear me though. Heartache Tonight has that line "but no one wants to go home now..there's too much goin on". In other words they havin a party and its bumpin..and nobody is ready to jet just yet. The precursor to 1999's line "if u didnt come to party dont bother knockin on my door " etc. There's a lot of opinions on The Eagles good and bad but dont front...there aint a damn thing wrong with The Eagles.

The Eagles are gonna do a new CD to be released in early 2003.

I love the old Eagles stuff, but the 'Hell Freezes Over' crap and the outrageous (at the time) ticket prices soured them to me in a huge way.
