The Blues Help, last minute xmas present suggestion needed:
my uncles says he, quote, likes the blues. I don't think he has much of it or knows a lot. Maybe I'll get him a CD. What would you suggest?

With little more details than "the blues" (a varied genre regardless of what most people think) to go on...
...these two might be safe bets. The B.B. King album is a Grammy winner, has his most popular single and might be the easiest to find in a local store. The Buddy Guy album is a personal favorite. tA Tribal Disorder

Just my opinion, but unfortunately the new modern day Rock Star Buddy Guy is a different animal from the album I suggested. However, i'm glad to see him get the current visibility and accolades while he's still alive to enjoy them. tA Tribal Disorder

heartbeatocean said: so just kind of different and not to your taste? Yep. It used to be edgy but maintained some clarity. What i've heard lately is thin and heavy on the distortion. Comparing his second album...
...to the present is an even starker example. tA Tribal Disorder

Throughout the 90s Buddy Guy had an excellent run of albums on Silvertone.
Both DAMN RIGHT and SWEET TEA are stellar "state-of the art" blues albums, '98's HEAVY LOVE is bit of a dullard, but the cover is so pimpish you have to love it! test

One of my favourites! It's a great experimental rock/blues album. Any other Cream album would of course also be a good choice! "Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system" - Bruce Lee
