The songs that need blasting off into space thread I was discussing this today at work. What songs are you truly tired of. Not necessarily songs you hate but songs that are played out and you think 'If i never heard that again i wouldn't miss it'. It can be a track by a band you love or dislike. Heres mine
Queen - Another One Bites The Dust(Its got to be the longest 4 minute song ever) John Lennon - Imagine (Makes me want to puke really, even though i love its intentions) REM - Losing My Religion - (Another song that seems to go on and on) U2 - Pride (It sounded good back then but now with Bono's ego it has to go) Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit (I hated grunge) and songs because they're simply terrible and played to death. Gloria Gaynor - I will Survive ABBA - Gimme Gimme Gimme (i could pick several ABBA songs) Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody - (had to pick one xmas song, its this one) and one Prince song Lets Go Crazy - No need to hear it again [Edited 12/21/06 19:38pm]

Anything by Shitney.
ALL Nirvana tracks. Can't stand 'em. Any track by Fray/Hinder/Nickelback and any band in the same vein.

I'm sorry, people, but Hotel California by The Eagles is piloting this ship and heading it directly into the sun never to be seen or heard again. Love The Eagles, and I don't want to ever ever ever hear that one again. Ever. Seriously. Ever. I won't miss it one bit.

Please let it die. You get a double for that one. I hardly ever hear Stairway on the classic rock stations anymore to be honest. I think they stopped playing it so much because of people like you complaining. (and Dan up there too. I know he hates it as well ) Although I personally feel that people think it's cool to make fun of it and complain that they hear it all the time when really, they stopped over-playing it long ago. It's become sort of like making fun of Kenny G. or something. EVERYONE has to do it. Now here are some they play WAY too much: Guns n Roses - Paradise City Bruce Springsteen - Born in the U.S.A. Santana - Black Magic Woman Fleetwood Mac - Rhiannon The Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar Steve Miller Band - The Joker The Clash - Rock the Casbah and these that wildheartxxx already mentioned.... REM - Losing My Religion U2 - Pride Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit "I saw a woman with major Hammer pants on the subway a few weeks ago and totally thought of you." - sextonseven

That's the way they do down here also. If they play a jam like "Too Tight" in your area, at least it's a full-fledged R&B station. The one down here played mainly crossover R&B shit from the 60s and 70s over and over. Then, they started included 80s songs. Then they changed their format to include pop/rock songs from the 60s and 70s. Now, they have started included pop/rock songs from the 80s. They started using a slogan...."You'll never hear the same song twice in a day". They just don't get it. It's not the format that people are getting sick of. It's hearing the same damn songs over and over from that era. They brag about not playing the same song twice in a day but with all those decades, they should have enough stuff to play without hearing the same song for at least a month. Andy is a four letter word.
