went on a vinyl dig yesterday and found a rare album that I had been looking for

The second album by A Taste Of Honey 'Another Taste',released in 1979:

To those of you who buy used vinyl....dontcha love when this happens? You find a rare, out of print LP that you've been looking for.I was jumping for joy when I found this lol the other customers must have thought I was insane, lol

I'm going on another vinyl dig this weekend.Hopefully,I will find these records:

***the second and third albums by GQ---I only have their debut album and a Greatest Hits CD.

***the first three albums by Switch

***the first album by Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio

anyone else planning to do a vinyl dig anytime soon? What records are you looking for?

It's a great album. I especially like the song "I love you". But I don't know why you call this album "rare" ... I see it on my vinyl hunts all the time ..

I was thinking of you when I started this thread lol We discussed this album a long time ago and I remember you said that it's one of your favs.We both were pissed because the first and third album are compiled together on a CD,but not the second album mad

What were the singles from this album? I know that "Do It Good" was the first single, were there any follow-ups? I think "Dance" would have been a perfect single....that bassline is HOT!

I'm broke, but I've been jonesing to go on a dig for vinyl for about 2 weeks now. Around this time of year I can always get great stuff because folks are pawning off albums for Christmas money. A few years ago that's how I got MJ's History on vinyl for like $12. Big ass book with big ass pics! It's also the best time of year to find bootlegs of...well, you know.
I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

I think they did try to release Dance as a single..I'm not sure why that wasn't at least a club hit at the time...I dig the vocal blend on that track, too!!

At the place I go to,they have a ton of albums for only $1.00! It's amazing how cheap these records are. They're in mint condition too.

there were several times when their record label screwed up the singles. On the first album, they chose an unremarkable second single ("You're In Good Hands").You don't follow up a monster dance hit ("Boogie Ooogie Oogie") with something like that neutral If they insisted on releasing a ballad, they should have chosen the superior "If We Loved".

And I bet you already know the story behind "Sukiyaki" and how the girls had to practically beg the label to release it,lol.

It ammazes me how labels are always the worst at picking singles, lol

Around that same time, when Angela Bofill's Angel of the Night came out , Arista wanted the radio stations to play their picked single, "For The Love Of You" because it was uptempo...but the R&B stations kept opting to play the album's first track, "I Try", which has since become a quiet storm classic....

Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!
