I wish artist could cut out the middle man. I wish they could record when they wanted and when they were ready to release an album they just put the whole thing on the internet or contact an independent distribution company to ship units and maybe promotion company, etc. They could have the choice to hire outside vendors or not. I’m tired of labels holding the reins on artists.

Exactly, just the fact that so many things come into play when an artist records. I mean, it should just be cut the record and release it, case closed, now everything is about HYPE, gotta have that big first week or else. Labels would rather spend millions HYPING a record months before it is put out, then just putting it out and then people at the labels Earning their paycheck and promoting the artist, giving them the money to tour, (unlike what they did to Van Hunt), im tired of hearing about cancelled tours and projects because the label cut off funds, Listen everyone, well mainly artists that have talent and can play, dont sign with a label, unless you are planning to sell out to the 106th and Park/Trl crowd.
