The word "Comeback" needs to be banned from use

Talk about overuse, this word "Comeback" ranks right up there with "Artist", "Diva" and of course "Hype". The word comeback is now the new term record companies will use to "pimp their shit", to get that Hype, that big first week. The use of the word makes no sense, unless when you talk about incidents where Gloria Estefan came back from her accident and learned to walk or Teddy Pendergrass coming back from his accident and recording again. But the use of it when Mariah Carey has one CD that doesnt sell a million and then the next one does, is not a comeback, she didnt comeback, we did. So this goes for the whole Prince talk a few years ago, and if Michael takes the stage again, or if Janet Jackson's next album sells more, thats not coming back. And of course the word is being used like crazy for Britney Spears, and im sure Jennifer Lopez once her Movie with Marc comes out and her album in January, it will be another "Comeback" in the media terms. Just the other day, i was in a store in the city looking at some magazines and this girl saw Usher on the cover of a magazine and she said "Damn Usher is making a comeback". People get real already.

I think it was appropriate for Mariah because no one was checking for her after the Glitter era.

i personally think the more words we ban the better. when we are back to grunting and throwing rocks at each other's head, i will be far happier than i am with all this troublesome "language" nonsense.

Well for Mariah it was all media created, the so called "fall" and "Breakdown" and then the "comeback", her fans were always there, mainstream wasnt, they came back she didnt

it was called Neon Nights than London Records went under and All Around the World sucks as a label with a big name artist
