Marcella Detroit... Such an underrated artist...she's got the voice of an angel and writes such smart and meaningful lyrics...her mix of techno/dance/pop/rock/punk is always interesting and, believe it or not, she's currently unsigned(!)
I saw her years ago here in Detroit with Shakespeare's Sister and happened to be standing next to her family...they were so proud and her brother was telling me how hard she worked to get where she's been. I just think she's so overlooked (and not just because she's from Motown and once played the angel of God on an Ab Fab episode )... Check her out! http://profile.myspace.co...=106847085

(for flowers, mow the netherlands) Yup, she was God. She and Marcella were in 2 scenes - the one where Edina blacks out at the edge of that cliff while she's skiing and during Saffy's wedding. Possibly my favorite line from that whole show comes right after she wakes up from her 'religious' experience and has that massive fight with Saffy. "Heal! Heal. Go peacefully amongst the things."

Is that the episode when Patsy eats the potpourri? No, I don't think so. The pop specs are right before they go to Morocco. I think she actually wears them by the pool. "You know...I'm just going to be some lovely, gorgeous things!" Sorry to derail your thread! Marcella's great. I haven't listened in quite some time, but I like her. [Edited 1/8/07 5:56am]

Not! I'm more fond of her. Especially the vastly underrated Shakespear's Sister's "#3" album... But it's matter of taste.

Marcella is brilliant. I saw her live in a club in Birmingham years back, bizarely she was supporting that guy from Spandau Ballet. She has the most amazing voice live. I was a fan of Shakespeare's sister but she was the stand out member for me.
(Love Ab Fab also, as it happens).
