TOP 10 WORST SONGS OF THE 80s (in no particular order)

"(Keep Feeling) Fascination" by Human League (1983)lol

disbelief

"Missing You" by John Waite (1984)

This song has a good hook and a decent melody. It's not NEARLY the worst song of 1984, let alone worst song of the decade lol

"Missing You" is lame mid-80s pop/rock.I like John Waite's earlier hit "Change" (from 1982),that song is great, but "Missing You" is a bore.

1. Anything by Anita Baker.

2. Anything by Shitney Houston. She's only number 2 because Anita Baker's music was more boring. However, if it weren't for Shitney Houston making it big with her boring shit, Anita Baker probably would have only had minor success.

3. Anything by Mikki Howard.

4. Anything by Freddie Jackson.

5. Anybody I missed that had similar music as the top 4.

6. Some of that stripped down midtempo rap in the late 1980s that was underground at the time.

Most everything else, I was cool with, with the exception of bullshit songs like "Don't Worry, Be Happy".

Air Supply & Kenny G are added to that list.

It may be lame, but there are much worse offenders! For example, Icehouse's "Electric Blue" is absolute trash lol

"Don't Worry Be Happy" was never really a favorite. lol I almost cringe whenever I hear it now to be honest, but I do respect Bobby McFerrin's talent in this song. All vocals.

I'll admit it: I liked that song then and I still like it now. It's a masterful performance. music

AFAIC, "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" and "Time (Clock of the Heart)" are both much better than "Karma Chameleon" (not that I don't love the latter).

These are the ones I could think of at the moment:

Tarzan boy - Baltimora
ANYTHING by Modern Talking barf
La Isla Bonita - Madonna
Dancing in the Street - David Bowie and Mick Jagger

Oh and here are two equally bad local "favorites" (sound samples below).... believe or not, even though the first song is from a children's record made by a legendary Icelandic comedian called Laddi (who used to be funny), it's played at some popular clubs today disbelief : Superman - Laddi

And this cover of some french rock song (originally called Ca plane pour moi) made by talk show host Hemmi Gunn who in the 80s, like so many others, thought he could release albums...:

If you haven't heard the LaToya songs, you must, because they're so horrid that they're hilarious. They're worse than the titles imply. "Somewhere" has got to be the worst song ever recorded, and my friends and I found her Bad Girl album at a record store for literally, like, fifty cents. We were pissing ourselves in the car. It's great!

I've heard three of those Toy songs. falloff "Sexual Feeling" is brilliant comedy. "Don't touch it, baybeeeee!!"
