Will I Am talks about producing with Michael Jackson Will I Am talks about producing with Michael Jackson
From Access Hollywood.com http://video.accesshollyw...dlid=51194 AH: Our show was with you guys in Europe, with Michael. Will: Yeah, in Ireland. AH: How'd it go? Will: It went great, you know we're gonna get back up with each other before Christmas and in 2007 we'll be working in January, February and finish what we started. I'm excited. AH: How into it was Michael with the whole project? Will: Um. I don't know because I think I was more excited than he was. I think my excitement blinded me. But you know, he must be real excited because he called me today, you know. We talked today and last week. AH: You talked about the music and the project? Will: Yeah, just about what we'll do when we get back together, you know. AH: Tell me about the sound. We got a little taste of it while we were over there but you guys were still a long way. Will: I think we should, what I would like for the sound to continue to go towards is just mature and lush melodies as opposed to having him competing in what today's -- in today's minimalism. You know, music with like a [imitates sound] whatever that is, I think we need to smack them upside their heads with just a real lush production and beautiful melodies and push the boundaries of what music is. I think he can do that. AH: Did he sing at all while you were over there? Will: Still. It's amazing, you know, he sounds better than he did -- you know I don't know what he sounded like before he recorded 'Billie Jean' and 'Off the Wall' and all these songs, but, his voice in person sounds even better than how does recorded then. AH: People are gonna be pretty thrilled by this. Will: Yeah. I can't wait to finish it, it's gonna be great. And for me it's cool you know with the nominations from the Grammies, producer of the year, and at the same time working with Michael Jackson. You couldn't ask for a better setup. Things should be great. AH: Alright thank you, thanks for your time. Will: I appreciate it.

I'm glad he realizes we don't want to hear MJ over minimalist beats.

Will.i.am shouldn't get too excited. It's likely that Michael will discard the tracks completely and bring in other producers. He did this with 'Invincible'....worked with a ton of producers early on (Wyclef,Missy,Lauryn Hill) then rejected the tracks as if they were yesterday's news, lol.

Some pretty cool songs leaked so we know they DO exist. There´s Escape, we know that What more can I give was recorded with all those artist. It got somehow released, but why it didn´t get normally released with a good promotion is a mystery to me, cause itś a great song. Anyways, MIKE, CAN´T WAIT FOR YOU TO COME BACK! "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

When a big corporation like Sony doesn't push the songs more, it's because they don't expect the project to cover their expenditures. Simple as that.

I hope the collaborations with Will.i.am actually amount to something. The trouble is, Michael works at snail-pace on his albums and if he and Will come up with some really hot songs and he sits on them till the end of 2008 it may be too late.
Will.i.am will have produced for countless other acts by then and give them the sound he originally came up with for Michael and then MJ's album will drop and sound old and tired which is exactly what happened with Rodney Jerkins and the work he did for Invincible. Just release the damn thing already. The more he goes over it, the over-produced it will end up sounding.

Mike's gonna collaborate with James Brown, according to Daily Star (and Will.I.Am).
The King Of Pop is working with the godfather of soul. Michael Jackson, 48, has hooked up with James Brown 73, for his comeback album. Black Eyed Peas mastermind Will.I.Am has been behind the mixing desk.
He Said: Michael Told me for him, his influence was James Brown all the way. I was like Damn' I worked with James Brown!, Michael said: Ive always wanted to work with James Brown, and then I said, OK lets do it!

I was talking to Cee bitching about Michael "not having the fire in his belly" as one MJ biographer put it, and he reminded me of something...Michael has his own family now. As strange and weird as his family has come out, writing his family off as just weird, risks taking away any ounce of humanity Michael has left. He is at bottom: a human. (Hard to believe for some haters I know..)
Yeah blame Invincible all you want on Sony, but the fact is this, Michael didn't put as much into it of his own stuff. How much stuff did he actually write? That record wasn't a MJ record (Dangerous,HIStory) it was a Rodney record with MJ doing vocals. (Personally, I dig Invincible but that is another story all together...) The point is this..Michael has a family now that he loves and by all accounts, seems to be putting most of his focus on that. (Where as in the past it was his career.) Beyond that, the people he worked with last time around weren't as innovative as Q by ANY means. (Yeah Michael worked with my favorite choice producer, Teddy Riley, but guess what, "2000 Watts" probably wasn't the ONLY song they did together. So don't write him off as a producer just yet.) Add to it, the mess with Michael leaving Sony, and all that trash about the head of their company being a racist, and the crummy promotion, and you have something that is bad. No no. it is really..really..bad. Infact, if..The Whole World Has To Answer Right Now Just To Tell You Once Again, Who's Bad... (We might all agree that situation takes the cake) *Pun INTENDED* Why can't Michael work with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and Dallas Austin one more time? I will forever love HIStory (Disc 2) till the day I die. Come to think of it...same goes for Michael.
