nope, that list is in release order. it's selective but in release order, if you get me.

personally i think a good place to start is probably "ziggy stardust"... take it from there. "or "hunky dory".

TRON

This will be great. I'm a bit disappointed with the companion hits cd that's coming out. It seems a bit unnecessary when he already has changesbowie, the sound + vision box set, singles collection, and best of 69-74/74-79. If you ask me, he's due up for just a straight 90's collection. I know he didn't have a lot of hits in this time period but he's been in top form for a decade now and the work should be represented more completely. How many times can you repackage the same songs and make them interesting? I think the Virgin best of's that came out a few years ago might've been the best yet, but there still isn't the perfect definitive bowie collection yet. The years they should've covered with those are 69-74 and 75-80. Those are more clearly defined eras in his music and Scary Monsters was the last great album before he lost his way. Then he should have a single disc one for 81-91 and another single disc one for 92-02. To me, that would make the most sense. As far as this dvd, it sounds perfect except I wish they would've included his appearance on the Cher Show, Soul Train and the real "Life On Mars?" video. But it will be great to have all this classic stuff collected in one place. Bowie rules!

START with the new 2 disc "best of" set that's coming out. then go from there. I'd recommend the 69/74 and 74/79 collections, but they can be hard to find sometimes. and the new collection coming out will cover the entire gammut of his career.

but after you get those, get into the 69-80 stuff first. then 93-02. Leave the 80's for last. Or just skip them entirely.
