I think Prince felt that Beyonce was a cut above alot of the pop acts out there, and was trying to show her some support. It looks like the influence of her record execs won over in the end though. Though she did take some of Prince's advice and got herself a band.

I guess you would call it jazz. I can sit and listen to it though but it sure as hell ain't something I would want from someone like Prince. I don't consider "NEWS" as Prince's most boring album though. I just threw that one out because so many people hate it. My choice for most boring Prince album would be "The Truth".

Well, vain, I think of it like this.....I barely listen to Beyonce songs...."Irreplaceable" I like. But that's about it. However, the only Prince album I NEVER spin is NEWS. So that's her entire catalogue vs. one album from him. Yes, NEWS is better
