I don't want to make a PRESUMPTION here, but I find this question, the wording of it anyway, quite offensive!

I think Krytonite is talking about female artists that never hide the facts within their stage persona that they're from the 'hood and/or the projects.

TLC is the only girl band that I miss. I still listen to songs from their first 2 albums.

I can't stand Keyisha Cole, but it doesn't have to do with her being "ghetto" confused
If you will, so will I

Aaaaall of them hoes are GHETTO to the extreme no matter how slick they try to be.

En Vouge, now thats the opposite of "ghetto", wild maybe, but never ghetto.

Real question here: can you be from the hood and/or the projects and not be ghetto or does one automatically equate the other?

ANSWER: Yes, you CAN be from the hood and not have a persona/alter ego that show that fact at all.

Even The Jacksons came from the 'hood (Gary, Indiana), but they never conduct themselves with that kind of persona (except for the father, Joseph of course!)

Also, Prince grew up in the (multi-racial) 'hood. And I don't recall him to ever have a 'hood persona (before having Tony M. as a band member, but thats another thread!!!). lol
