Guns N' Roses to finally release "Chinese Democracy"
December 15th, 2006

New York, NY - After 10 years of delays, Guns N' Roses will release the band's highly anticipated "Chinese Democracy" album on March 6th.
After 10 years of delays, Guns N' Roses will release the band's highly anticipated Chinese Democracy album on March 6th.

Axl Rose recently posted a notice on the band's Web site saying March 6 is the tentative launch date for the band's long delayed album.

"To say the making of this album has been an unbearably long and incomprehensible journey would be an understatement," the website said. "Overcoming the endless and seemingly insane amount of obstacles faced by all involved, notwithstanding the emotional challenges endured by everyone -- the fans, the band, our road crew and business team -- has at many times seemed like a bad dream in which one wakes up only to find that they are still in the nightmare."

"That being said, this is not a promise, a lie or a guarantee but we do wish to announce a tentative release date of March 6th," Rose wrote. "This is the first time we have done this publicly for this album. Any and all other dates have been made up by others for their own reasons. We would like to assure the fans that though tentative, everything in our power will be done to meet this date. Once it is finalized and official you will be notified. If we are delayed for unseen reasons you will also be notified as soon as possible in regard to a new date and the album will be released as shortly thereafter as is possible. We thank you for your patience."

Look, they're a bunch of old alcoholics and this album is never going to be released. They're too busy focusing on their rum fits.

As much as i have liked GnR in the past, they are one of the most "overrated" bands in history. The fact that Axl Rose is given a "Lennon Like" stature in the industry is insane. I think the delays of this record have been Axl's way of trying to push his "stature" even higher, the fact that this record has been talked about for a decade has made GnR the most talked about band for doing nothing. Whether this album comes out or not isnt even the issue, the fact is, the longer it doesnt, the more hype it will have, sort of Axl's "Pet Sounds" so to speak, so even if its a great piece of work its already been overshadowed by its own mystery.

"We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

I will be mildly interested, and if the songs are great I'll buy it and support them

but for me "Guns N Roses" ceased to exist when Izzy left the band, and that was what, 16 years ago. I'd actually be more enthused about a new Ju Ju Hounds record than Chinese Democracy at this point

Well, it's about godda*n time, isn't it? I will be interested in seeing how the album sounds. I actually have the feeling that the "dated-ness" factor that people were afraid of happening with the album will all but disappear, given the current state of affairs in the US and the world.

On another note, once again, Mr. Rose is blaming somebody or something else for the long wait time for the release. What I would like to see is him taking personal responsibility for his part in the delays. After all, it takes two to tango, especially so with Mr. Rose. How else do you explain every other band member leaving except him?
